It's been a while since I painted the last French Indian War set for Konrad, which was the British Command group. So it would only be logical at some point to produce a comparable set of French.

These are again Tradition of London castings (picked up at the London show just a couple of days ago) and include 3 of the most recent releases.

Here we have the front and rear views of the bagged and tagged castings. I will clean up / assemble these today and later on undercoat them outside with the usual grey car primer, have to take full advantage of the good weather here.

.........to be continued.

This I am looking forward to seeing. I had thought of acquiring a French set at some stage in the future as these are a great looking set.
As for the weather my folks live in Bedfordshire and said it had been a most un-English summer. Blue skies, hot and sunny.

Jeff

A great looking set. I am sure Konrad will enjoy adding these to his outstanding collection of glossy commissions.

Far too hot to do any serious painting on my other projects, so I thought I should clean up and assemble these. ;)

Its so warm that the undercoat dried in a matter of minutes............here we have the French Marines.

Your painting series are always fun to view.

Wow, I am late here
That was really quick, Jeff, you just got those castings.
However, I am of course most happy to see them and I like them a lot.
This will make a splendid group, like the British Conference Set you made for me and it will complete a beautiful little series of FIW figures with Artillery from both sides and now several troops and commanders of both sides.
Much appreciated and looking very much forward to watch this thread.

Konrad, it's too hot to carry on with my existing projects - the paint is drying on the brush too quickly  so I thought I would get these sorted and at the ready to paint stage, may be a short interlude before the paint is applied ;)

If anything could wake me out of the doldrums -- it's a call from Jeff for a rain dance -- here , we have had rain storms every afternoon for the past 5 days (and four more forecast) -- I'm more than happy to send you a few of them -- (especially if it will keep you painting!) Love the work you/ve been doing -- really great.

Hi Dick good to here from you :) Where I live in the South East of England the weather is (has/going to be) rather warm or even hot! problem is it's humid :( and I hate to say it but a drop of rain wouldn't go amiss for the garden - so get dancing! :D

Thanks, there's plenty to paint at the moment.

Dick, you can stop dancing now  It's gone from one extreme to another. :(

Excellent, another of Jeff's SBS's! And another great choice of subject, Jeff! The castings are excellent. And of course, for me, the La Reine figures pass for any number of regiments that served in Germany, too. The officer, musketeer and drummer marching at the double would look good in a platoon column, rushing to get to their position (remind me a little of the figures in the illustration, "Eilmarsch nach Küstrin" by Puchala).

And I realize, by your example, you've reminded me that I have couple of painting SBS started and need to get back to them!

Prost!

Thanks Brad, it's Konrad's choice of additions to his FIW collection, What Konrad needs to decide is the colour scheme, are the figures to be as per the Tradition photos or all the same unit????......Oh Konrad.....:D

Good call on the uniforms, I didn't notice that. I'd need to consult my Osprey, to try to sort out the regiments they appear to represent.

Prost!
Brad

Oh man,
decisions, decisions, decisions,...
Actually it's not that bad.
Since these are supposed to represent a meeting of different troops you can just go with the given pattern by Tradition.
That is going to be a fine set together with the French Allied Indian that I already have.
Konrad

I found out today that my dark grey had dried up and so I couldn't carry on with the Mountford Gun thread - hence I have started painting these - the first coat of the main colours. Not much to look at, but a start.........

A good start that is, Jeff,
here are two pictures of the French Allied Indian you painted back then with the British group.
He can hardly wait to finally get to talk to someone ;):D
