Hi there,

For a long time I had a larger marching column of troops from the French & Indian War era on my wishlist.
This year, due to the most generously priced 10th Anniversary Booster sets by John, I finally made the call and now can check them off my never ending list :smile2:

I decided for the 35th Regiment of Foot, got two sets of the Line Infantry, one set of Grenadiers, the Fifer, the Drummer and the Officer.

What I also want to mention, Treefrog helped me out a lot with this purchase. They layed away the three booster sets for me and let me purchase one per month :salute::
So the troops assembled in April, May and June, and didn't hurt the budget :wink2:
A big Thank You for that, it is very much appreciated.

Here now a hasty set-up for a few photos. I just really wanted to see how the marching troops would look like, and am very happy with what I got ^&grin, and want to share it here.

At a later time this year, these will be displayed on a nice base with groundwork and a few trees, shrubs and such, but I do not have the time for that now.
There will be better photos then too :wink2:

Happy Collecting!

Konrad

WOW - very impressive. The booster sets have been wonderful and I've taken advantage of the offer to do something similar with the Cazadores and other Portuguese. I'm tempted to add a third box now after seeing your set up

Looking forward to the finished piece

Nothing like a column of soldiers on mass. Really impressive and the way you brought these together over a period is interesting also. John's figures are so hard to resist. Robin.

Konrad...this large scale column of marching figures is epic!

it reminds me of Ken Dunne's (Fraxinus) display...very nice...

Very nice indeed.

Another display of the 35th for which I have recently developed an obsession. Perfect size grouping for the typical detail. Normally, officers do not appear until the detail size exceeded about 15 men. Details of six would be a corporal; 10-12 Sergeant; 15 - 20 Ensign, 20 -30 Lieutenants and Captains appear at around 40 men.

If you want some background on the 35th Regiment of Foot, you can try this link. For the Siege at Fort William Henry, the paper includes an Order of Battle and a Roster of the Officers of the 35th, so you can tag the officer with a name. Plus there is a Monthly Return buried deeper in the document and a good number of line drawings of the fort itself.

Hi Konrad,

Good to see you back in action. Congrats on the acquisitions............looks fabulous!

Can't wait for you to have time to do a good scene with them like you described.

Mark
