Hi all,

I'm a little late to the German WWII FJs series as there was discussion about size, color etc. of the First Legion range, so I finally broke down and bought one set (German kneeling with Panzerfaust) and must admit I like the set just as much as my SS sets!!! The detail on the smock is perfect and the overall sculpting is spot on, I will pick up the rest of the FJs after seeing this one...Sammy

Yes, they are superb figures. I've got the full set.

As discussed, there are definite scales issues, in that these do not sit well with the SS and 101st figures.

However, as a stand alone display they are excellent....

Can you all post some pics? I've admired the FL FJ line but not bought any yet.

Hi Mike, I'll post some tommorow, it's only one set but even then you will be blown away by the detail, painting, sculpting of this set, also picked up my Halftrack which is even better then advertised!!!!!!...Sammy

Sammy,

Are you guys saying that these FJ's DO NOT MATCH UP WITH OTHER FIGURES IN THE SAME RANGE? FOR $60 A FIGURE AND THEY DON'T MATCH. I am slowly being driven from this hobby. When figures of the same range by the same company have to STAND ALONE, that is ridiculous. Especially with the most premium figures. K&C and JJD both have huge (no pun intended) problems with this also.

I have 4 FL SS sets which I like. Are the FJ's too big or too small to display with them?

Hello, the First Legion SS and the FJ's look fine to me and I enjoy displaying both units in a Normandy diorama of mine, there were discussions awhile back and some thought different so as in all things we have different opinions but my sincere opinion they look great together...Sammy

Some of the FJs are a little slighter in stature than the Waffen SS, but well within the range of normal human size differences. They look fine together, especially in a dio.

If zoomed in the prone Waffen SS is slightly bigger than the prone FJ machinegun team, but not a real issue to me. This one gets repeatedly blown way out of proportion.

Sammy and Hunter Rose,

Thank you for replying and pics. Great looking scene you put together. I can see SS is a tad heftier. FJ's look good. I don't mind the figures a little on the smaller side(especially when they have such detail)they look more realistic when displayed with vehicles.

Couldn't agree more, If all the figures were the same size to me that would look goofy. As long as the guns and equipment are well done and a uniform size across the board that is all that matters really as we all know not everyone is exactly the same size in real life.

Great shots by the way

Indeed FJ were smaller guys in respect to SS...:)

That 100% correct :salute::
In the beginning there were height restrictions for sure among the different services especially the WSS one had to be of above average height and of a proven blood line and para's were lighter and smaller. Other services as well like tankers and pilots being recruited from smaller men for reasons common sense would I hope explain. As the War went on through attrition the restrictions became less a focus and they would take what they could get, even little boys and very old men.

There have been several threads refuting this. There are some size differences just like normal humans, but when you measure equipment they are definitely in scale. It is nothing like comparing FL to K&C where they do not seem to be the same species.

I think HR's pictures show this nicely.

IMHO...The FJ's are definitely smaller then the Waffen SS figures.....That has been clearly shown and discussed already when they were first released .....An appreciable size difference was especially noted when some of the standing figures were placed side by side....I would have preferred the FJ's to be a "closer match in size" with the Waffen SS figures or visa versa....THAT SAID: I think that the FJ's are excellent figures as the camoflage on their uniforms is actually better detailed then the SS uniforms camoflage.....The size difference is obvious to me but that did not deter me from purchasing many of the FJ's as they really are TOO GOOD TO PASS UP:salute::....As long as the standing figures are not placed right next to each other they are in the acceptable range of height variance but in the future I think that FL needs to be on guard for "too much" height variance within the same range.....FL scale consistency within a range has always been a STRONG POINT for them and I would like to see scale accuracy REMAIN a top priority for FL in a hobby where all too often scale consistency is neglected.....This is my opinion....others may differ with my viewpoint and that's fine....Peace to ALL.

my latest FJ, got to admit as much as I like the SS range I'm enjoying the FJ range just as much or even better in certain sets such as this kneeling FJ...Sammy

Sammy, your collection is getting very cool. I enjoy it when you post pic's, as they say keep'em coming.

recently picked up another German FJ and got to say if any collectors are on the fence for any reason on this range I say this to you...order one set, that's it.. and I can promise you will not be disappointed what so ever and you will find yourself ordering more shortly there after, I have a few more single sets and the machine gun team and I'll have all the range completed but hoping that First Legion continues with the FJ range for years to come...Sammy
