Anyone know if FL will be at Chicago. Would like to meet Matt, had some really high quality email exchanges but would like to shake his hand and say hello some day. They weren't there last year were they??

He wasn't there last year Chris and I heard somewhere he may go this year. It might make sense, in light of their increasing popularity and dealerships. Never hurts to pound the flesh :wink2:, which is what many manufacturers, big and small, do.

I'd much perfer Matt stays where he is to help keep the cost of the figures were they are . We Don't need a jet setting CEO flying around the world driving cost up . I say put the figures on a few tables... Put up a big FIRST LEGION Banner and hire a few Hot chicks to wear something sexy and sell the figures . Sales will be through the roof and cost will stay were they are ....we are all winners . .. Regards Gebhard

Assuming the above post wasn't made in jest, marketing costs won't affect the price of the product. In fact, marketing costs are usually factored into the price of a product, so the costs of travel is not the prime factor that will dictate price. Price is dictated by the various factors often discussed on this Forum.

On the other hand, there are many people who have probably never heard of FL -- not everyone reads Forums or has computers -- and spreading the word can lead to a larger customer base, thereby potentially resulting in a reduction of price (albeit unlikely). The goal is not to preach to the converted but the unconverted. Increasing sales is what it is all about

Hi Chris, I don't know if Matt will be there but with the the new First legion dealers will come more exsposure to the company, with Treefrog/George/Sierra/Troops of Time/sorry if any I'm forgetting anyone, but First Legion will be well represented this year and I will post as many pics as I can of any First Legion ranges that I may see, I arrive in Chicago that Friday morning so I'm sure I'll make that rounds to see alot of the dealers/rooms etc...Sammy

Hi Brad ,
Of course it was a joke and one directed at Mr Matt ....he looks in from time to time :wink2: ... hearing you now saying things like this "The goal is not to preach to the converted but the unconverted " is Music to Matts ears I'm sure . I have been doing just that since my first Post on this forum look it up its stilll there . I found this forum by googling First Legion after already being hooked and have been here long enough to see a good bit of the early First Legion collectors myself included beat down and attacked for saying what is now openly excepted by most ... and sad to say some left and never came back . I hapen to have met a alot of very well read collectors who also happen to have a good eye for quality right here on TF and I'm happy to call some of them friends ...I like TF some nice folks here . Everytime I read the new threads started by collectors who have just purchased their first First Legion figure its really really cool to see the same excitment that I had when I bought mine {bravo}} .... I say welcome aboard the First Legion steamroller is just getting fired up ^&grin pick your poison there is a line for just about all taste if not stay tuned :wink2: . Regards Gebhard

Hi Sammy ,
A little bird told me Matt's not coming this year but maybe next ...seems he is real busy with running the mansion for Hef who is on vacation :wink2: Like you say FL will be very well represented at the show .. Showgoers don't foget the Original and First FL Salesmen Mr George at MM and of course our fine host at TF :wink2: Regards Gebhard

Hi guys,
We confirmed earlier this week with Matt that he will not be in Chicago this year, but don't count him out for next year's show. :wink2:
We'll have First Legion there, as will George and others so I'm sure FL will be well represented around the show.

Gebs,

I also heard he's not coming. Too bad but as you say but he's well represented. I think those days of FL enthusiasts being beaten down is past. Sometimes when you shake up things and do something different you meet resistance. However, FL is now well accepted, growing and appealing to more and more.

Hi Brad ,
Yes I think FL really did shake the whole industry up {bravo}} with companies like Kronprinz and Country Honor coming on the scene ...size wise , sculpting and also with the painting style , I think First Legion are leading the way into the future and are becoming the company whos style to copy . Everytime I look onto the Forum there seems to be more and more collectors sharing thier interest in FL , I think its Great and I'm sure Matt & Co are very HAPPY as well :wink2: CHA CHING $$$$$$$$ . TF is really becoming a more inclusive and excepting place for First Legion collectors to gather and share thier interest {bravo}} without all the snipping I know its much more fun to visit . And with our host selling FL its now a one stop shop ..Regards Gebhard
