FL late war German or Waffen SS test run (1 Viewer)

Being that FL makes great uniforms and other features on the Stalingrad Germans.. I think FL should make some late war wehrmacht and/or waffen SS. Maybe not a huge series, but some kind of a "small run".. Or at the least (Since FL already has a tanker mold) making some late war waffen SS tankers..

If you're taking a straw poll, I'd be out. Got so many SS on the market and in my collection I'm surprised no SS jet fighter aces, admirals, and Lufthansa flight attendants have been released yet. On the other hand, maybe Matt will take ideas like FL:Cherkassy seriously & you'll get your wish. Another idea could be FL:Fire Brigade which opens up any possibility

i'm very happy with the two WWII ranges that FL currently do. There's hardly a shortage of late war German or Waffen SS from other manufacturers. In fact one of the attractions of the Stalingrad and DAK ranges is the absence of the Waffen-SS.

I would be out, too.

There may be an exception if the Waffen SS was part of the fighting and necessary to complete a range for a specific battle, such as Battle of the Bulge, but otherwise I see no need.

If its about atrocities remember the Heer were as guilty of them as the waffen SS I would like to see cano troops

The other feature of First Legion that appeals to me is that by focussing on specific batttles - whether Acre for the Crusades, Borodino for Napoleonics, Gettysburg for the American Civil War and and Stalingrad for WWII s that they are able to cover those battles in detail and the focus of their ranges are not diluted by having to cover a wider spread of battles and theatres. If ever FL did Kursk, Normandy or the Bulge then that would be the opportunity for the Waffen-SS to appear.

I agree Waffen SS Camoflage has been done to the point of boredom....Glad that FL has chosen to do Stalingrad Grey/Winter along with Russians for the early Eastern Front which no one else is doing.....DAK is also developing nicely for First Legion.

That's funny ^&grin .. I must say that if First legion do cover a Battle in which the WAFFEN SS were combatants it would be interesting for me to see how they could do with the Cammo patterns . I'm sorry guys I know the Waffen SS have been done to death but First Legion haven't done them .. I'll just leave it at that .. Regards Gebhard

How about the different patterns of the Fallschirmjagers instead? I would think that if FL ever did a Western Front range, the Fallschirmjager would be an important part of it.

I would love to see First Legion versions of Splinter or Tan & Water pattern smocks .. Hey how about a line covering The Battle of Monte Cassino :wink2: . Of course the SS had paras also but they wore mostly Splinter smocks ..a 44 dot SS smock is a very very rare item .. Regards Gebhard

Well, we will see where Matt goes in the future, but Monte Cassino is certainly an interesting suggestion.

I'm certain that any battle that FL does that included Waffen SS will include those figures. SS camo is a complex subject and I suspect would be difficult to paint accurately in this scale except perhaps by a master painter. All the companies to date have made simplified approximations and it will be interesting to see how FL does.

Well if anyone can do Waffen SS camoflage accurately it's likely to be First Legion....FL painters have not dissappointed....Masterful Painting....One things for sure if FL does do it...It will be done well:wink2:
