Anybody got a pic of the two side by side for comparison? Or a pic of a FL tanker sitting in the Figarti Panzer IV? Thanks

I'll see what I can do for ya-but Sunday soonest, so if someone else has can assist sooner--all the better.

Shots are perfect! Are they compatible ? I'm assuming the IV was longer then the III in real life? Yes, I know FIGARTI is misspelled in the header ^&grin

I'll defer to the scale experts on that detail, but I consider them to be VERY compatible for my taste and like 'em together. I have a spare FL tank commander and have been very tempted to cut him down so he'd fit in the Figarti turret-but only tempted so far.

I did a 'grey wave' dio last year, but somehow didn't get any pics with the Figarti IV and FL III together...I may have to fix that this year {sm4}

I bought the Figarti Panzer IV to go with my FL Panzer III and I believe it is quite "OVER-SCALED" ....To my eye it was made too large and does not match up well with the FL Panzer III in regards to scale compatibility.....The Figarti tank commader is also a giant (again too large)....Paint is compatible in that it is grey but not size.... IMO

The FL Panzer III is 1/30. The Figarti Panzer IV is noticeably larger and is more appropriate for the larger KC, TGM, and TCS figures.

While they did have different dimensions, in real life the Panzer III and Panzer IV were essentially the same size.

Agree Completely Hunter...That's why I returned the Figarti PanzerIV within one day of receiving it....It was definitely not in proper scale and incompatible with my FL PanzerIII.....Since this Panzer IV was released, I 've noticed that Figarti has definitely tried to correct the scale issues as most of their recent WWII AFV's are in proper/accurate 1:30th scale dimensions. Thus they NOW fit VERY WELL with FL products.

Agreed, I placed a KC tank commander in the cupola of mine.
Good to know (and I always appreciate the knowledge base on this board) regards the size... I honestly thought the PkwIV should be larger than the III as it's a couple tons heavier- but I still like 'em both...maybe someone FL will take a shot @ one some time.

This answered my questions.. I won't be buying the figarti PIV..

No worries. It's a common misconception. The other one people often get wrong is the size relationship between the Tiger and Panther. Everyone always thinks the Tiger should be bigger, when in fact the Panther was the slightly larger tank. The Tiger was just heavier due to thicker armor among other things.

The Panzer IV is marginally taller than the Panzer III and about 1 ft. longer which at 1:30 is less than 1/2 inch

How bout the Tiger's and russian AFV's? Do FL figures go ok with them?

Daruss....They are a perfect match in scale....Figarti Tiger and Figarti Russian AFV's match perfectly with First Legion......It doesn't get better in scale compatibility.

If you want to do a side-by-side photo comparison, take the turrets of and compare just the chassis. This eliminates any visual influences of differences due to different turret sizes and gun sizes. The P.IV should be clearly longer - about 1/2" and marginally narrower. With the turrets on, the P.IV should be slightly taller.

Too my eye, they look fairly close in the photos (I don't have either model) If you measure just the chassis without the turrett, at 1:30 the P.IV should be 19.7mm in length vs 18.5mm for the P.III and the P.III should be 9.8mm in width vs 9.5mm for the P.IV

The problem is that you guys are thinking that FL is 1/30 and they are most assuredly NOT FL is 1/32. Don't believe me. take an FL figure and stick him right next to a Britains figure. Also Figarti makes 1/30 and used to make a lot of 1/32. FL has to my mind always been very scale and much smaller. That is not a complaint or criticism. It just is. I like them all so no one can accuse me of bias.:salute::

I've posted the length and width of these two tanks in this thread so if someone has either of these tanks they can measure them. But from what I have heard is that FL AFVs do measure out at 1:30 and from personal experience Figarti AFVs are sometimes not 1:30. I'm talking only AFVs and not figures.

So the basis for determining the scale our figures is not measurements, but rather simply comparing them to W Britains? Interesting approach. Perhaps W Britain is actually 1/30th. :)

The FL Panzer III is 1/30. I base this on math. It's not really hard to measure and the ruler tends not to lie. The Figarti Panzer IV Ausf D is noticeably larger than 1/30 when measured.

The K&C Panzer IV Ausf H measures out almost perfectly to 1/30. I'll post a picture of that next to the FL Panzer III tomorrow to show you what a true sceled Panzer IV looks like next to a Panzer III.

As for manufacturers claims to scale, they really mean nothing.
