hey guys. do any of you know about Flames of War? Its wargaming about WWII. if any of you know about it, can you give me some advice? Im not sure if I should get into it or not, and I don't even think that there are wargaming clubs in my area. Plus its really small, 15mm, and expensive. Can anyone help?

P.S. There was no catagory for it, so I thought it would be good to be put here.

Flames of war is Axis and Allies miniatures on steriods. If you enjoy painting and heavy duty game mechanics its hard not to like it. However, without a club it can be a challenge. Thier website is very good and has many books for every battle. If you don't want to paint you can buy prepainted armies on ebay and similar. Its a great way to reseach army battles. It can get expensive if you want to have every army and every accessory. If you want to get into wargaming on a simpler basis look into Memior '44. If you want to wargame on a computer Panzer General and Panzer General II. Have fun.

Hello nickgio

I agree with ecuriel. There are three massive wargaming shows held here in my area three times a year. Flames if War is easily the biggest drawing game at all of those shows- the game has a very rabid following and lots of white knuckle, drag down exciting tourneys.

Seeing how you live in NY, perhaps consider attending one of these shows. The next one is in March check out www.coldwars.org for more info. Perhaps even looking at the website you might be able to find some buddies to roll some dice with and shoot up. :smile2:

Take care and best of luck
