I'm building this bombed church when I not painting tanks. This is the main structure so I just need to add the roof, windows and maybe some landscape. I want it detailed so this project might take a while.

Why oh why does every church have to be damaged??

It's high time someone made a church with a good looking preacher in the front of a huge congregation

Maybe that's K&C UK's new line - a line of famous preachers. Boy, THAT would be popular. Maybe they'd do me! LOL

Very nice design. How did you make the stone work on the walls?

I used a ruler and a pencil to make the indentations in the stone work then poked the stone with a wire brush but you can't see that right now.

I was thinking about you Pete before I posted this. I knew you would have a comment. Maybe the next one will be intact. :)

You really got a neat start on the church. Very professional. You learn quickly from Marc's class. Leadmen

There's no pleasing some people :)

Looking real good alex!!! I thought of doing a church myself(intact!!!:p ) I was thinking of finding some colored see-through plastic, like that stuff on 3d glasses ect. just the real thin stuff and making some stained glass windows for it also. I think this would dress your church right up because your off to a great start.
I was thinking of cutting small pieces of all different colors and shapes and using 2 part putty to make frames and hold all the small pieces together.
This would look real nice on your window shapes as you could make a nice circle design and then blend it to the pointed shape of the top of your windows.
I started a fountain for the out side of the church(if I ever get around to starting it) and hobby bunker came out with some marx recast fence that would look real cool for a small grave yard fence(looks gothic) for the little lexmark tomb stones that I found at halloween for a small grave yard outside the church.
Just a few ideas for you.
I also found some stone walk ways at the christmas tree shop in the x-mas section that were a nice fit around my fountain. They came in half round and straight sections and might be of use to you also for your church if you have any of those christmas tree shops in your area.
I,ll try and post a picture of the walk ways I found for you.

Thanks Fish for the tips and yes I will be making stain glass windows from clear plastic. I have that fence you are talking about but not sure yet if I will use it here but we'll see. I haven't thought about the tomb stones but its a great idea. I would like to see the walkways you are talking about.

Heres a picture of the walk ways and some benches and bushes in pots that I found in the x-mas section Of the christmas tree shop. I also found the mary and baby jesus in the sears x-mas section, I want to try and build up the base that I started with some 2 part putty and make some designs on it also but i,m out of 2 part putty and havn,t been in the mood to do munch lately.
The walk ways are in small sections and come with one straight section and one curved section per pack for a $1.00 and if you look close you can see the section breaks but with a little work could make some nice looking pieces.

I picked up this fence at OTSN. I was thinking of repainting it to give it a matte finish and maybe a bit of rust here and there.

Just as I assumed you would!!! You do some great work painting plastic,or any other thing for that matter, I wish I had your talent!!!

Looks fantastic! Can't wait to see your attempt at reproducing stain glass windows. This should really be something when completed.

Here is a picture of the stained glass windows. Ken Osen gave me the tip on how to go about making them.

Alex,

Those windows are beautiful and they are very skillfully constructed! I continue to marvel at your seemingly limitless talent.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Well I made my own wate slide decals and put them on clear plastic styrene. Then I cut some of them to look like broken stained glass.

I had thought about downloading window images ,sizing them to proper scale, then printing them on clear stiff cellophane paper. Probably would have to spray seal it to keep from smearing. Michael
