Hi everybody,

I collect K&C since only three years (missed a lot of good stuff) and I'm a big fan of the FoB range. If I recall well, when Andy launched it, he said he wanted to 'explore' short campaigns and choose to start with the Fall of France (you will remember that the first figures were supposed to be 'white metal' as there's a long tradition of that kind of figures in Europe, especially in France).

The latest releases (FoB046 to FoB053) convince me of the popularity of the range (and I don't mention the Bedford truck and the Polizei car). They are terrific!

Now, coming back to my point, isn't it the time to new 'Fields of Battle' (without dropping the French campaign)?

What do you think? Would you like to see figures (not necessarily vehicules) related to the invasion of Poland, the Balkans, Unternehmen Weserübung, Operation Avalanche, siege of Sevastopol (that would be something - imagine, naval infantrymen), Operation Barbarossa (figures of German and Soviet commanders) and, why not? even 'Fields of Battle' like the invasion of Ethiopia and the Spanish civil war. So, what do you think about it?

BTW, those are no suggestions or a wish list or anything like that. After all, we're here to talk toy soldiers :)

Regards,
Roy

I would like to see something in the Balkans or Barbarossa but I'm not sure it would sell well enough to warrant production. Something from the Norway campaign would also be a neat addition. Maybe if the new Free French sets do well it will encourage the production of other lesser known campaigns/units? Still some great ideas.

It does make sense to expand FOB into other lesser known theatres as originally advertised. Otherwise the FOB line should have just been called FOF (Fall of France):p.

The problem is though, as we've heard time and again, if Andy doesn't think a line will sell, he doesn't make it. At a time when K&C doesn't even make any Pacific front figures any more, I'm not sure what the chance of seeing other obscure theatres. However, the opposite side to this is that Andy has said he didn't think FOB would sell well in North America, yet it surprised him and did (of course those were different economic times). So K&C can never really know if something will sell until they put it on the market. If K&C thinks US Sand Pebbles sailors will sell, one has to wonder why Chinese 8th Route Army, or Burma Aussies, or Winter War Finnish, or Italian front Canadians, or 1st Special Service Force could not be viable lines as well.

IMO, producing only 500 pieces of each figure, announcing in advance when they will be released (calendar), selling them for 40 dollars (remember, only 500) and you have something. I'm sure collectors are more ready actually (with the crisis) to spend 200$ for five figures limited in number than 200$ for a vehicule.

Regards,
Roy
