With johngambale always asking for more desert stuff and Andy looking to produce the BEST possible military miniatures I am taking the liberty of suggesting a reference book. I finally obtained acopy of the softbound book "Codename: Swallow, British Sherman Tanks at Alamein" by Dennis Oliver and published by Mushroom Model Magazine. Only 34 pages but 7 of those are full color illustrations of camouflage and markings of Shermans of the Eighth Army. Personally, I think that several of these would make nice K&C models. A book worth having!

Gary,

One of my favorite pieces in my entire K&C collection is a wood Sherman Andy did for me in 8th Army Camouflage with shell damage. I would love for Andy to do an 8th Army Sherman incorporating all of the improvements and innovations he has introduced to K&C polystone tracked vehicles, but taken one step further: hinged hatches that open and close for the turret as well as the driver's and radio operator's compartments. It sounds like this book would enable him to chose from several different sets of markings. Lets chip in and get Andy a copy.

Brad, I got mine from Squadron Shop at:

Item QM4102, MSRP $22.95, currently listed at $19.99 (USD)

British Sherman Tank N.Africa Photo on Track Links..

:) Hello Gary! Go to the Track Link AFV Site, punch in Britain WW2, then go to # 4 or 5, on bottom of Page and hit key says Sherman N. Africa WW2! Awesome tank! I think you will ALL love this Sherman Tank? Please reply when you find this site! Thankyou!

:) Yes Alex! That is the Best Looking British Sherman Tank, used in N. Africa! Chow!

Very nice model. That's a "Sherman III" (US designation M4A2) with welded hull and diesel engine. The most common 8th Army Shermans were M4A1s with the cast upper hull and radial engine. They both look good in that cammo!

Track link and Missing Links (www.missing-lynx.com) both have nice model galleries that one can use for inspiration.

Andy just sold me a master painted prototype of a Priest in almost these exact markings. Sadly, he decided not to put it in production.

Louis,

Please send it on. You probably have software that can reduce it but I don't mind doing it. Maybe you can send a couple of shots from different angles.

Thanks.

One more shot. Too bad he decided not to make it. I'd buy it.

I saw that beauty in Chicago in Andy's room. I naively asked, "Hey, Andy is that one of new pieces you're coming out with?"

Everyone looked at me in the room and Louis said with a smile, "Nope, Andy brought that back from Hong Kong for me". Andy decided not to produce this for general production.

LOL, I think that's how it transpired. Oh well, I would have bought one or two myself. Let's see Brad, you'll buy one and I'll buy two, that's three, yeah that's enough to justify a production run, right? LOL, I wish.

That one could be a great SL edition at 500 exemplaries. I would certainly buy one, just the way it is.

Pierre.
