I fixed the figure to a base with groundwork.

I was rummaging thru the GA pile and came across this trio. A home cast of a converted Britains fig and two 1-35 French figs done toy soldier style. Prob could be upgraded one of these days…

Ive just completed this!!! A fully furnished finished forlorn fallow fellow. Bring out the *****es (whoops! There goes my good merit conduct badge standing on this forum...hahaha).

Thx. This piece is an outlier. I usually work in 1/32. Finishing it was more a test of my dogged persistent nature.. ggrrr...hahaha.

Spent a fruitful morning digging into my hoard. Here are some possibilities which may be developed further.

Italeri 1/9 german soldier converting into something else. I'm still searching for a subject that is not WWII germans....hahhaha.

A verlinden static nude to be made into what?

An Artmi 1/32 French Grenadier to be made into something else Any ideas suggestions are welcome...

Thanks for yr suggestion. That is a rabbit hole direction. Lots of differences in expectations between high art and verlinden. Hahahaha.

I’m still thinking and looking but will try to figure out how to move away from the static verlinden to something else.

Hi Paddy,

Im still thinking... Here's another whimsical piece. I was rearranging my stuff and out pops this forgotten sprue (tamiya). Anyway, I assembled this simple model 1/24 and Im now tking of a theme.

Found this sculpted flat fig from many years. Its Vincent Van Gogh. about 30mm. Quite easy to sculpt. Not sure if I'll work further on it.

Now ploughing thru my "ancients" hoard. Here are a couple of abandoned ancients. These were made about 30 years ago and I had used rubbery green putty then. The sculpting was meh then...

Xerxes was based on a frieze and looks static. Not much I can tk of to improve this.

The Roman soldier was an early Andrea figure which had excellent details but rather static. I had bought several kits then and this was my attempt to animate the figure. Maybe I can revive this one.
