Guys, this forum is full of good , decent, tolerant people. Today however and without going into details there was an incident of unbridled bigotry on this forum. I just wanted to say that if any members see such posts they really should help the moderators by flagging these up. Bigotry, racism, hatred, intolerance call it what you will should have no place here, this is a good forum full of good people and we should all play our part in keeping it that way.

I will stand up and agree. Many are upset with me because I did not like the figure urinating. I did not have to say anything but I am a man and I owned up to being the one that asked it be removed. I am still right now being shelled for it. Oh well, I can take it. Bring it on. I have shouldered more then most can believe in their lives....words on a keyboard, Oh brother...or bother.... There are those upset about my moves and views trying to stretch words that I am unaware of and words I did not now were wrong into calling me a racist ...why....because I ruined their chances at a display. This is also not true. If they had any idea the mix of races in my family....my immediate family...they would laugh there heads off..or threads off. No matter, I am not here to please everybody. I live for myself, God and family. I am on here because I like it, I want to be and I am free to be, and I will stay because I am learning and enjoying from many of the members..

I am following a man's post who may not be happy with me either. However, I will stand next to him and say..YES..there is no room for insults to anyone's country or Queen, President, Chancellor or whatever. I do not believe i have done this and if so I apologize.

ALSO, causing a problem was not my reason for starting the Happy 4th of July post. It was for good intentions not the least of was.....apple pie; fireworks; BBQ; parade; church and baseball.

Ludwig, this was not aimed at you at all, you were big enough to apologize, which I respected (I've apologized many times on here)

I just wanted to say we should keep our eyes and minds open when posting, this is a great forum and I want it to continue so.

Thank you Ludwig, luckily the sort of thing that happened today does not happen often at all, but when it does it needs to be crushed straight away and a message sent that bigotry is not acceptable around here.

These things are not forum rules mate they are just what decent normal people adhere to. They have to be formed into rules because the mindless basket cases can't tolerate anyone who is different in appearance skin colour etc. there have been some stupid comments lately and some racist ones but, as you say report to the mods. I would not now even respond or allow second chances for such comments plenty of other forums I suppose where they can freely express such disgraceful attitudes

Mitch, yes I'm not talking heated debates or the odd argument that gets personal, these are part of many forums and its kind of to be expected. That's a world away from racist remarks and insults aimed at insulting others from a different country and their culture. Stomach turning to be honest.

well, that maybe Simmo but, its not important as this thread was clearly about the disgraceful comments that were made about black people and, the tone and context they were used in. We can have disagreements and arguments on many things and probably will never align ourselves to the others opinion but, I am sure we are all agreed, be that English Australian et al that those half heads and idiots that use such racist language should be highlighted and dealt with accordingly. No room for such behaviour and, nobody from any country could do other than condemn it.

Guy's I've never read any Australian member post such racist comments as I read the other day, but the comments were not just about African Americans,(these comments were at least apologized for)no, there were also comments about British people and our monarch, it was these comments that finally made me speak up.

A lot of the nationalistic stuff comes from wanting to wind another country member up and, has been present since I joined look at some of the comments about brit and US leaders.

The stuff I took exception too are the racist comments, tone and context they were put in and, apologies for that are not acceptable. You don't get out of bed and think right I will racially abuse and ethnic group (bad day or not) you have it in your psychological make up to do that.

Only Simmo knows what he's on about with this comment, but for my part I didn't see the offending comments hense made no comment on something I know nothing about, Rob and others have said what needed to be said. (and well said I might add)

I agree Mitch with some of your post but it was offensive in various ways because the person involved claimed to be speaking for the whole of America. I can tell you that from the pm's I got from my American friends he not only did not speak for them but they had some choice words on the subject!{eek3}But what was very telling indeed about the anti British and insulting Queen Elizabeth remarks were that they were posted right after a picture of the Brit figure with the Hitler picture, ask yourself Mitch, why on gods good earth would someone insult another nation because of that, honestly , I think we can draw our own conclusions.

There can be no excuse for the use of offensive words to describe African Americans either, to be fair to one of the posters when I informed him it was offensive he removed it straight away.

Anyway, as you say few and far between, but I felt it was worth raising as there had been a sudden outbreak as it were.

Not really disagreeing with you just putting it into context for myself. I remember the Blitz hoo har a while back and a number of posters contacted myself who distanced themselves from comments made then. If someone speaks on behalf of an entire nation then immediately its worth just overlooking. while I did not see the post about the nation or queen as immediately offensive it was obvious it was going to be taken that way. I would think that the post I alluded to should have been removed, thats a given but, it should not have even been written. I, actually would have liked to see it stay so more could have seen it and, allowed the mods to jump all over it. but, hey give the loons the rope and, they will eventually hang themselves. as has been seen many times on here.

The whole peeing incident was just a farce mate to be honest and, more about starting a storm which, did not happen. I know more people find the act itself like the defacting german trooper offensive than who he is doing it on. A lot of people contacted me and said they could do without such figures undergoing bodily functions.

It was obvious though that some response was going to come about peeing on Churchill or the queen when really if we are going to be historically accurate it should have been the King.

Apparently though mate you could not make this stuff up!!!! LOL

I agree Mitch, you couldn't make this up, Fortunately the vast majority of Americans are decent friendly open minded people who don't mind what you say about Hitler :wink2: But as they say ' Nowt queer as folk'!^&grin

One thing I can respect is that although the author of the offensive African American remark should not have written it, he was big enough to apologize both on the forum and in pm's, which shows some character that others lack.

Right enough of this , lets see who wins the British Grand Prix today and who has to put their diving flippers on!^&grin

I agree with you Wayne, strange comment particularly as only three people had posted in this thread when it was made. Nobody from France/mainland Europe, Canada or Singapore etc commented either and only one American. Seems strange that only Australians lack of comment should be "noted" (not sure if I count {sm4}).

Sometimes due to time differences something can be missed and even then you have to look at the particular thread before the post is removed or thread deleted.

Maybe the australians were brought up because of the hoo harr in another universe where comments about carpet bombing made apparently by an australian were seen as highly offensive and racist!!!!! who knows why Simmo posted his comments??

Sorry, but, when you place words in tone and context and, then add in the words used respect and forgivness are not high on my list. As I say they are just not in the normal persons thought process and vocabulary and, when they are easily used either meant or, to start some rumpous or other it speaks volumes about the person.

As you say we have had our say better to talk about what we are on here for than waste anymore time on these people.
