A bit of info. July 4th, 1863. John Pemberton surrendered Confederate forces at Vicksburg, Mississippi. Residents of Vicksburg would not celebrate the 4th of July again, until 1945.

Great post! I did not know that. It is great to have so many different era and conflict historians on here to learn from.

Thanks you,

Ludwig

Bob mate,
Welcome to the Forum. Any resident of Jacksonville would have to be a good bloke. I hope you are a customer of my good mate, that young rebel, Tim Tyler of Troops Of Time.^&grin
Enjoy your time on the Forum and your TS collecting.
Cheers from the Land Downunder, Howard

Jack mate,
Well thank you cobber. I have always tried on my trips to the US to make new mates. The US is full of top blokes and all of the US dealers I have met are likewise. You will met the big dude, Chris McKenna, at the Dinner next week. He and the KGB are great examples.
Also keen to meet up with your good self and the new Brissy crew and my old mate young Tom from the Territory.
Cheers Howard

Ludwig, just catching up on the forum. Been hosting a BBQ all day. I like that ambulance. I have it also. Noticed that many posts from other members were deleted on the 4th of July thread. I hope it wasn't negative comments about the USA. Australia and England, you're welcome by the way. Keith

We in Australia have always been thankful of America's continuing sacrifice in the defence of values we cherish. We are a small country but I would hope that we have communicated our thanks in Korea, Vietnam and the Middle East.

Jack I'm just griping that America seems to get a short end of the stick in the world of miniatures. There is more to WW2 than D Day Andy. Keith

Don't know about that , at least 50% of figures out there are of US. But we all want more of what we collect, I reckon there is not enough Aussies.....:wink2:

I have never been in business so I have no experience of the pressures that must be ever present. My pay check has always arrived and I have no fear of the sack short of gross misconduct. If I had shares in K&C, my choice of ranges would be completely at odds with what I would want as a collector. I want Franco/Prussian War figures at 32 dollars apiece so that I can buy seven on each side spread over four visits to my TS shop. I am not not sure if Andy would be swayed by that!

I suppose if something sells, as a businessman why experiment unless there is an economic pressure to do so? Presumably the figures will come when there is a perceived economic benefit to the company that makes them.

Anyway - thanks for the chat, and Happy Birthday. God bless the USA!

Jack
