This morning a friend brought this to me:

Always the same observation: these figurines are finely detailed and painted, but the hands are too large, the arms risen, and their articulations awkward.

I can't understand, why FOV tank crew always are successful, and not their infantries..?

Uuuummmm.....maybe it's cos they're "Not Very Good" figurines in the overall scheme of things.
I do like their vehicles though.

The FOV figures came in handy, when my 8 year old son needed to make a WW-2 diorama for school. A $20.00 Sherman Tank and a whopping $7.99 for the figures along with some dirt and twigs and small rocks from the yard did the trick.

Forces of Valor did make some improvements with a couple of their sets last year. The prisoner set and wounded sets in particular. They still aren't as good as the figures with the vehicles though.

SW,
I'm glad your son got some good out of them. No offense meant, but 8 years old is just about the optimum age for these figures IMO.

I agree, from about ten years old it's best to get them away from TOY soldiers and into models. Sorry Harry, you left yourself wide open there ;) :D

Aaaa-Haaa.....Oh no I haven't, cos over on the 54mm channel, I've suggested we call them miniature figurines and vehicles (only I think I forgot to include the word "miniature").
Whatever.
We all have different hot-buttons, scale differences, as long as they're not outrageous, isn't one of mine and neither is minor inaccuracies. In fact I'm toying with the idea of mixing the K&C LRDG/SAS Chevys and Jeep with the Figarti items. Now I'm aware that the Figarti Chevys are 1/30 and the jeeps are 1/32 - but if I remember all the kerfuffle at the time they were released correctly, the K&C figures in the Chevy's are supposed to be 1/32.
I think I can mix them. If the Figarti jeeps are noticably undersized then I reckon some cammo nets can disguise that...and bulk them up a bit. :):);)
Does anyone know if the Figarti Chevy's will be available early in the New Year cos I'm working my way up into a lather the more I study the photos of them.
Cheers

I think Figarti makes some real nice stuff, as I have a diorama with the British Stuart, Tank crew and a navigating the desert Jeep. I do however, think they are too small to mix with 1/30 scale vehicles. The K&C figures will look 8 feet tall next to the jeep guys.

Really? Oh well, thanks for letting me know before I part with my cash SW.
Maybe Figarti will release 1/30 Jeeps in the New Year.
Mind you, I'm already picturing what a dio would look like with the items you mention.....Hmmmm.....gonna have another look at the Figarti line-up.

It actually came out very nice. I did utilize the K&C oasis well and put the british soldier drinking from the water bottle along side it. Added a few tents , a campfire by the tanker who is kneeling, some supply boxes and some camo netting, and created a desert rats home base. Figarti stuff is very underated. I consider their vehicles to be some of the best.

Lots of this stuff is on sale now at half price. The troops are on sale, and a couple of Honey stuarts are on sale, that could easily be given a tan desert painting.

Harry,

Figarti are releasing the Chevy in 1/32 scale as well as 1/30, so if you hang on a month or two, you'll be able to have all of your Figarti stuff lined up in perfect scale harmony :)

I'm aware of that Simon, but i'd rather have it the other way around, 1/30 scale to go with the K&C Chevy's and jeep I already have.

You could see if K&C will re-release theirs in 1/32 instead.
Nah.....can't see that happening somehow.
