Foyle's War (1 Viewer)

Had to get in on this...The British know mysteries and historical drama, when it comes to TV programs...I have thoroughly enjoyed Frost, Morse, Poirot, Foyle, Lovejoy, and others...not keen about Sgt. Lewis gone solo. I have started to collect the Morse series ...Thanks, England....Dr. Who is great also.Michael

Louis, is it The Inspector Linley Mysteries, with Havers his red headed fiesty Sergeant.

I have only recently seen a couple of these for the first time and really enjoyed them. But i'm stil waiting for Poirot/Foyles War to return as these are my favourites.

Aaaaah....the sublime Foyles War with the rather lush Honeysuckle.
I watched a few episodes last year on one of the CCTV channels. It was dubbed into Chinese, which was "disturbing", but still watchable. Missus H loved it. Guess some things are universal. Like good TV programmes.

Cheers

One cop related show that always appealled to me was 'Between the Lines' based around a police complaints unit. Investigating the investigators. If you get the chance, and haven't seen any, well worth a look in.

I enjoy anything Rowan Atkinson has done, even down to his role as the British consul in one of the "Bond" movies.

And I crack up every time I see a Cooper Mini!

A fantastic series and really overlooked in my opinion.Great performances from all the cast, Rowan Atkinson of course but also the guy who played inspector Grim. Some truly funny lines from him.Actually he recently played Rudyard Kipling in a BBC Film about his son John lost in WW1 and the long search for his body.

Is that the one where Harry Potter played the son?

Hey Jeff, yep thats the one.We had a tie in exhibition at the IWM.Very sad film,i don't think Kipling ever really forgave himself for helping John get into the Army.

For pure sex and violence you should try "Last of the Summer Wine". Compo's repeated attacks on Norah Batty, and Ivy wielding her favourite weapon, the infamous tin tray, makes the mayhem in Midsomer look like a kiddies tea party.
