I have been working on a new diorama for the past few weeks and although it is far from finshed, some of the components are really coming together. I need to find the gun that broke off and re attach it.

I started the weathering phase on the PzKpfwIB this morning. The mud is celluclay tinted with water based craft paint with bits and pieces of scale "weeds and grass" added to the mud mix. Once it had started to set-up a bit I went back over the high spots with some darker "fresh mud" to add some depth.

The initial application:

Grass/weeds touched up with some green and darker "mud" added:

The whole process has proven tedious and somewhat time-consuming but appears to be yielding fair results.

The Mark I B is, for all intensive purposes, done. Still a touch up here or there with the brush but she's probably 99% at this point. Wanted this one muddied up a bit and plan on leaving the Befehlspanzer I just "dirty" without all that mud. Mud is celluclay with bits of this and that in it, high spots touched up to show "fresher" mud deposits.

Nice one RB!

As an aside I live quite near to the Tank Museum at Bovington, Dorset, UK. which apparently has the world's largest Armoured Vehicle Collection. When I was there recently they were advertising for a restorer/painter. I have no doubt whatsoever you would be the ideal candidate. ;)

Excellent work!

The 4th Pzr. Div. Befehelspanzer is done! - Well mostly done. I still need to glue the tracks down and pin them after that last idler wheel, finish the crew and infantry but other than that ........

RB,

That terrain looks great, very natural looking and the Panzers are superb. Nice work!

Simon

It is good, isn't it! But then again so is all of RB’s other work :).

Jeff

Very nice dio. Love that early war Panzer gray scheme. What is the weapon the Landser is carrying on his shoulder in the foreground? Is it Czech? -- lancer

Excellent work! Are those Tamiya kits? You should post these over on Hyperscale or MissingLynx, too.

Prost!

It's a German Pz.B 39 Anti-tank rifle. The figures are from Dragon and Alpine.
Thanks,
