I saw some 1:48 planes by Franklin Mint today. There was a really cool Junker. I know they are not the right scale for K and C but I think they would make a reasonable display. Does anyone know much about them and where I can get hold of them on the internet.

We carry the Franklin Mint Aircraft as well. The aircraft are in 1:48 scale for all aircraft from fighters to bombers. That makes the B-17 mighty impressive with a wingspan of about 23-24".

The Franklin Mint has reduced the price considerably on some of the older models so there are some deals to be had now as well. I think the sale prices are good through the first couple of weeks of January.

They also have tanks and vehicles in 1:24 scale as well. They currently offer 3 versions of the Abrams and Sherman and two of the Humvee.

I have a dozen or so Franklin Mint aircraft models including Rudel's Ju-87 Stuka, and they do give you plenty of diecast bang for your buck. However their larger aircraft such as the WWII bombers and transports, including their Ju-52 are a bit big for my display area.

These models suit the average diecast model aircraft collector but often have inaccuracies that put off more pedantic collectors. I also collect 1/50 diecast military figures and vehicles and have displayed them with the aircraft on occassions but the planes do look overly large in comparison.

Btw these models were previously made by a company called "Armour" which Franklin Mint took over, so it's wise to check online for the Armour brand as well as Franklin Mint.

Thanks guys for all those tips. It is much appreciated.
Damian
