So...as a new FL collector it would be good to know, just how hard is it to come by the retired French Nap. Artillery Set these days?

It is a very interesting set. I bought one of the last ones. The sculpting is a little more static than for example french infantry figures but the painting is very very nice. The figure I like the best from this set is the drummer. I think that this set is going to become an icon in 10 years...

And no mine is not for sale :)

At some point, Matt will do a new one. So do not despair. The Napoleonic Wars (or rather "The Wars of the Coalitions") are a major focus of First Legion.

Unfortunaltely, it appears, it will be a while until he get to it. Like Saxon cavalry. ^&grin
 
The French artillery set was probably the first FL I got. Part of the reason was the completeness of the gun crew. I also got one of the last ones before they sold out. I'm sure many will disagree, but I still like it best of any of the FL Nap gun sets.

Hi Terry ,
Maybe you had me in mind as a possible disagreeing chap :wink2: This one goes back a bit . Just for the record I love the French Artillery set and it is my favorite of the three but I still think the Russian set is the best sculpted and painted of the three ^&grin . That may all change if and when we get a Prussian or Bavarian set... I have it from a very reliable source that the last eight were sold to a certain collector , and no it wasn't me :mad: he beat me to them . I'm also in the market for one or two if anyone should want to part with one . Regards Gebhard

Only one of a few who share your view of how the French artillery set ranks. :)

And someone bought the last 8 sets {eek3} Do you think for a big display or to store and resell.? I must have gotten my set just before that big purchase. I would have been very disappointed if they had sold out before I got mine.

From my understanding it was to build a dio :eek: , would be nice huh {bravo}} . Regards Gebhard
 
I missed the boat on that one also , looked at it plenty of times but never pulled the trigger.
So here is hoping some new artillery is not too far of [ I have only recently ordered the british
set so I,m looking forward to that]

got the British set instead.
Love it , that was the start of many Naps to come

Someone bought 8 of this artillery set at once! If that is truly for a diorama, that is going to be one heck of a display.{eek3}

Thanks , its always good to get a review from someone who has one
in there collection it will be sweet when it arrives .
It has taken me a fair old while to order it , some of FL,s other Naps
have always pushed it down the priority list until nowso I am glad it wasnt to late.
