Hello everyone,

Hope you and your families are all well. Over the past several months, I've been building up my Normandy Village collection. Many of you have commented on images I've been posting along the way. As always, your comments/feedback are always appreciated! I'm finally at a point where I do not have much more to add (perhaps maybe a piece or two); but in any case, I took a few images of the entire scene this morning located at the base of my fireplace.

Finding an appropriate backdrop was extra tricky but I finally decided on one that might do the little war village justice.

Thank you all for following along.

Rob,

The backdrop is perfect. You can't tell where the village ends and the backdrop begins.:salute::

Agree with Louis. It's the perfect, seamless backdrop for the prototypical French village. Beautiful job. -- Al

Hey Rob, great job of blending those model buildings with the background, looks like a real French village.

The background photo blends in really well with your village buildings Rob, well done !

Hi Poppo, appreciate that. One would be surprised how difficult it is to position the various buildings (4 in this case). All the buildings have so much exquisite detail and artwork that you want to show them in a manner to maximize the perspective. Even lining them up side-by-side does not show the side artwork of buildings like the Deux Maisons (SP060). In my layout, you cannot see the Cremerie (SP056) by looking straight at the diorama.

I must have positioned these a few dozen times trying different layouts. This one is the current layout which seems to work pretty well with my other pieces.

Bravo Rob, such a great scene you've put together.

From a French native: well done with the background! This looks like my home town! :smile2:
