Brad - thank you. Great site. Interesting to see how crude the first figures were compared to today's.

I don't know if crude is the right word, just different. It's interesting to see the development of Andy's craft from Arnhem days until the present. I think the first great set where you saw how good the sculpting and figures could be was WS 16, the first German tank crew. You saw possibilities there.

Many people don't like the early figures but when you actually look at them, you think "this is not so bad" and they have a certain charm of their own. Of course, it's nothing like today's sculpting. The figures then were more like toy soldiers whereas today's are more like military miniatures. I actually enjoy the figures quite a bit, sometimes moreso than the recent issues, not because the recent offerings aren't great -- they are -- but there's just something about the early figures, going all the way back to the Seaforth Highlanders.
