Hi all,

By way of introducing myself I want to present some photos. I've been a long time lurker to this forum and I really enjoy seeing other collector's display their figures, scenes and dioramas. So here is my offering. It is a work in progress and one which I'm enjoying incredibly. The idea was to model the streets of Fuentes de Oñoro, the maze like Spanish village where the Armies of Wellington and Massena clashed in 1811. It was the street bitter fighting which so captured my imagination in a era of long battle lines and huge columns.

Very creative! There was a good amount of "street fighting" during the Napoleonic campaigns and you depict it well.

On behalf of K&C allow me to welcome you Ollie to the Forum in general and the K&C section in particular!

Great to see some of those long-retired Highland Light Infantry in action again...These were among the first Napoleonic regiments we ever ventured into after a long absence...

Also interesting to see some 'Street Fighting Men'...Napoleonic style!!!

Best wishes, welcome aboard and...Happy Collecting, Andy.

Welcome Ollie,
You are starting off with a BANG! {eek3}

A really nice display, using top photographic skills and (of course) wonderful figures.

Looking forward to more of your contributions in the future.

Did you make yourself the houses and the streets? It is an amazing work.......

These are incredible Ollie! I love how you captured this part of the Nap wars with the way you chose to show something different than the usual battle field line formations.

The buildings are super and I'd love to know if you made them or where you got them.

Thanks for joining us all here on TF and sharing these. Hope we can see more of what you have to share in the future.

Great job with the set up and photos! The buildings look so real.

Thank you all for the kind words, they are all very much appreciated. I certainly look forward to adding to this model, improving, making many more in future and sharing the results.

Thanks Poppo. Yes, I made all the buildings and roads from materials I had laying around the house. I posted photos of the diorama in the Diorama section of the forum.

Thanks Mark, it has been a lot of fun so far. The Peninsula War really captures my imagination and I have a real ambition to make scenes which evoke a dramatic sense of a moment in time, in surroundings which feel lived in and provide a fitting stage for the great figures K&C produce.

Thank you Andy for your warm welcome. The 71st are superb figures, and perfectly accurate for the Streets of Fuentes De Onoro!!

Terrific work!I knew this would really come alive when you added the figures, and it certainly has.Well done that man.

Update and more pictures! I've made a Church facade for the village (pictures in the diorama section) which is a nice addition and modelled it on the actual iglesia in the village. Need more troops though. Very keen to bring some of the new 95th into the fray.
