My Fur Trading Post is almost complete. Just missing one WSP-111 Straight Wall section which has already shipped from the source and should be here by the end of the week.

Sets used to make this arrangement:
1 WSP-108 Complete Fur Trading Post
2 extra WSP-111 Straight Wall sections
1 extra WSP-114 Bastion
2 LOG CABIN from the Raid on St. Francis
1 RANGER'S HUT from Raid on St. Francis

For the area I had to work with (2-foot x 3-foot framed base), I am very pleased with the resulting set up.

When you look at your display and think what the people involved in setting up and running the trading post had to endure through the seasons and years, which for them was the norm compared with the soft lives most of us on the forum at least probably lead and the folk visiting it with the different languages involved, when different accents can be difficult enough to fathom and the difficulties anyone waking up with a sore head attitude could cause, it makes you pause for thought.
Anyway. well done with your display. it looks great. :salute:::salute:::salute:::salute:::salute::

Mike,

That looks great all put together. The Mounties better arrive ASAP to bring law and order to this rabble!

THX Brendan. I have more photos posted of this set up on the JJD Collectors FB group which I know you're a member of.

Thank you very much Greg. The cabins from the FIW Raid on St. Francis range are a perfect blend with the Trading Post Storehouse.

This is a size that best sets off the fort. For me space has dictated a smaller footprint. Nevertheless this and the Keelboat are the centrepieces of this series. Really happy to be a part of it. Robin.

THX Robin. I have the keelboat and another 2-foot x 3-foot frame which I hope to combine into a river landing with wharf scene.

Mike,

Everything looks wonderful in this awesome scene you've created!!! Great use of the varying pieces that JJ has produced over the years. It all comes together perfectly.

Hi Mark and thank you for your kind comments.

The last piece (WSP-111 Straight Wall Section) to finish my Fur Trading Post arrived this afternoon.

These pieces are starting to be hard to find, especially WSP-111.

Mission complete, although the latest Mule set no doubt will make an appearance in your layout. Still room for some upcoming fur trade figures, maybe even the mounted police touted. A really nice collection. Robin.

Thank you very much Robin. Of course the Mountain Man w/Pack Mule will make their appearance next month. And let's not forget the two arm wrestlers and the axe thrower as previewed with the 2022 Advent Calendar

This is probably as good as it gets. I would probably “dirty” up the grass tiles with debris, sand and loose leaves. That will also help cover the figure bases and seams between individual tiles.
