Yo Troopers, latest addition to the collection, as you can see moved away from the Cavalry, got very interested in the Anglo Irish War, and the Irish Civil War. I was very surprised to find this set with the 13 pdr. These were supplied to the Irish Free State Army by the British to blast the Irregulars out of Dublin Castle who were against the Anglo Irish Treaty, hence the Irish Civil war, reason they saw it as a betrayal against what they had fought so hard for which was to make Ireland a Republic and totally independent from the British Rule. But at that time it was the best deal that Michael Collins & Arthur Griffith could get from the British. Also worth a mention a lot of Irish wanted to accept this agreement being fed up with the War, also a major conflict of interest, some 200,000 Irish were serving in the British army at that time. If any of you guys know of any other firm that made any Irish Free State Army figures besides Britains set # 1603 can you let me know.
