I talked to Andy last night (always good to chew things over with him) and he's authorized me to say that King and Country will be releasing the following Warbirds in the months to come:

Spitfire Mk. II (Battle of Britain)
Spitfire Mk. IX (Normandy)
Hurricane MKII (Battle of Britain)
Mosquito
Henshel HS123 (Nazi biplane)
Typhoon
Fiesler Storch
Avenger

The MK. II will apparently come in two versions: JHH and GQJ.

We didn't discuss amounts and numbers but I expect it to be comparable to the recently released Pacific series, somewhere between 5 and 10 but don't hold me to it.

Ok, last but not least, a Lancaster! Yes, I kid you not. It will have a four foot wingspan and will be made in different versions, including Dambuster. It will no doubt be spectacular. No idea on amounts and prices or when but you know it will be expensive.

I also asked Andy about the less expensive Storch. Andy said he is still working on it and recently visited a factory and was cautiously optimistic. One of the problems is breakage because of the Storch's spindley legs. I'm sure we'll have updates in the future.

Congratulations on the warbirds success, but it still sucks for me.

:( What about Andy, getting us a 'HORSA' Airborne Assault Glider Plane; beside pleading, with 21st Century to make one for us?

Generally speaking these are WAY too rich for my humble blood but I love the line - they are beautiful. I have have to consider the Storch, however. I've wanted one of those for some time and I doubt my diecast aircraft world will ever produce one - and certainly not to the level K&C has demonstrated. I can't wait to see it.

When the warbirds go on sale, are they sold by the regular distributors or do you buy them through the K&C website? I have never seen them posted for sale anywhere. I usually find out that they were out after the fact. Are they offered to the general public given the small production numbers? I've never bought one of the warbirds because I find them too expensive for my budget, and so far I have not found a compelling reason to buy any particular one, except fot the Fiessler. Depending on what else is coming out in the next few months I might consider buying it. On the other hand, I would rather wait for the less expensive model if it ever goes into production.

Gil,

These are offered through the King and Country site only and not through dealers, at least not at the present time. I don't know if there are plans to change that. You have to keep track of things here as to when things are announced.

My guess is that the Fieseler will be SOLD OUT so rapidly that you better buy it first and have a look at it after :)

Pierre.

I have gathered as much and I believe I'll take your advice if I am fortunate enough to catch wind when it becomes available. At the very least if I decide I don't like it I probably wouldn't end up on the losing end if I chose to sell it. :D

If i win the lotto i want the Spit and Hurricane!

Hey Jeff,

Its a tough one; Lancaster or Marriage,Lancaster or Marriage????;)

Rob,

Just choose alphabetically! It's the fairest way after all :D:eek::D

All joking aside a Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster would be the ultimate display imho.

I already put an email in to Andy asking him to reserve me one of the Lancaster Dambusters. I just couldn't resist the opportunity to get one of these historic aircraft. If I can afford it when it comes out, I will have to get one of the Mosquitos as well - one of the most important aircraft of the war.

Nice choice Louis , it will be interesting to see what other
variants of the lancaster they come out with .
I,m also realy looking forward to seeing some shots of the spits ,
How long before the Mustang makes an apearance I wonder .

A heard that the workshop produced a one of a kind prototype Horsa Glider (a photograph was emailed to a collector friend of mine) for Arnhem, but I don't know if Andy will make a production run (anywhere from 5-20), just sell the single prototype or keep it for K&C's own archives.

I hope to be getting that photo tonight and will post if I get it.

Here is the Horsa Glider, a beautiful plane,
