For those that don't get the CTS newsletter, you are supposed to email CTS with either "GIs" or "Confederates" in te subject line, that is supposed to determine which set gets released first. Personally, I' mlooking forward to the GIs. They aren't Conte sculpts, but it's better than no GIs at all!

Looks like an artillery man or two in the set of GIs

The Reb set looks ok with some very good poses not sure about the casaulty pose looks rather odd with large arms and a tiny head.

Good observation. And the lying down guy either has a right leg which is too long or a left which is too short I can;t decide which it is but it is a problem
The one kneeling firing has a back which is overly long compared to the rest of his body even though the packs hide some of the problem.
If these dont fit in size with Conte and TSSD I am going to pass on them. They might be useable in the back of a crowd scene but there is something odd about the body proportions on some of them

WWII Army looks okay. I'm not sure I need an artilery guy however. I never bought any of the Long Tom cannons that were available. Civil War guys are okay, not great.
Again, as much as I'm not a fan of him personnaly, I think next to Marx the best Civil War figures are Conte Co. followed very closely by TSSD, then Cunningham, then Accurate. The CTS Unions do look good, and will probably fit in there as well. The Reds I think I'll pass on.

Hello.
What's about the ITALERI ones?
The CTS looks good to me. If they are not perfect, CTS is one of the most productive manufacturer for the moment...
Regards.

Some of the ITALERI were good, but kind of toy soliderish. Few of them seemed to be in any real natural poses.
Actually, as far as CTS, I think these are their first new figures in a couple of years. If we were to look at most productive I think we'd have to say AIP. Off the top of my head, I'd say next to AIP, TSSD has done more figures in the last few years in plastic than anyone else. I can't think of a CTS new figure set prior to these in the last 3 or 4 years, but I could be wrong.

I was always disappointed in the Marx Confederate poses ( pre-Centenial), they didn't seem to be as action packed as the Union.

Agreed but I find TSSD and CONTE ACW large....... New CTS fit right in with my Imex, Accurate, Marx, etc.
