Hello,
Can someone tell me, officially, did the FW 190 (LW 028) come in box with the drums, crates, jerry cans, as depicted in the promotional photos?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Affirmative. It does come with the fuel drums, crates, and cans. -- Al

Then, if this is the case, I'm afraid I've been "shiestered." I purchased the piece off Ebay, and the seller informed me, the set is unopened, but the plane doesn't come with the crate/drum/cans? This would make the box opened, thus contents removed. Is this correct?
Thanks,

Mine can with. I remember at the time people talking about this being a reason it was higher than earlier planes.

You should probably take this up with the seller but if the listing indicated what you told us, then it's caveat emptor as you know what it did or did not contain. If he told you after the auction was over, then you have a beef.

I'm sad to tell you that yes, the LW028 I bought new in box does come with a piece containig barrels and jerry cans. I can't affirm that all LW028 were made like this, but that box in which it came had the picture of the plane AND the barrels and jerry cans on the cover, so check to see if your is the same and if there's an empty space on the styrofoam. If its there, it's a good indication that your's should've had it too.

Ah, yes...caveat emptor...buyer beware...even in this technical age, the same still holds true. Although I sent the seller a poignant email, I await response. Until then, my FW 190 could possibly be on it's way...minus accessories, at which I regress to "lesson learned." :redface2:

I have a sneaking suspicion that someone on Ebay is breaking up sets, and I befell one of these traps! yikes!

If he told you the box was unopened, yet it didn't come with crates, that is fraud. If he doesn't give you a refund, give him negative feedback & post his ID on this forum. Also jot down his city in case he changes his Ebay ID

As a matter of fact, why don't you just give us a link to the auction page

Posting his id and a link to the auction is against Forum rules.

Couldn't he post the link in the context of community critique...perhaps we could provide a valuable service to the seller in how to word his/her listings?

No, if you read the rules of the trading/selling section, you can't do that. There is no prohibition against doing this through pm.

Sorry if I got anybody worked up in a lather  A few emails later, and the seller finally looked in the box to confirm the contents, just to find all is intact...write-off as a simple misunderstanding, I guess. All is forgiven; still, valuable lesson learned, in part due to checking with a good bunch of fella's...youse guys...who have my back, and don't like it when a fellow enthusiast, or shipmate is rubbed wrong...Thanks again guys...your swell! Cold Root beer on the house^&grin
