Received the following today. Apparently, a boat is on the way.

That will be really neat! Great news for people who want to make a diorama of the actual landing. ANy news on when it will be released?
Cheers,
Brendan

Very cool. Interesting how these things run in cycles with John Jenkins also producing some Gallipoli figures.

It's shaking out that K & C and Jenkins will be the main competitors for collectors' dollars and pounds, with Britains running a distant third (in my opinion); they are not quick enough to get stuff out to market, again in my opinion.

Could not agree more about wbritains. They talked up a ww2 series last year at the toy solider convention in Toronto and this year's event is not that far off and still nothing. I think they have tried to get their operations back in order as a priority first, I noticed they have started to get the releases they promised out on time. Also TGM has branched out to aircrafts in a significant way so everyone is becoming more aggressive while wbritains seem to be sputtering around...

I find them a little frustrating. A couple of months ago they posted photos of a great looking WW I artillery set and now they've indicated it won't be out until late May. Either don't announce it until it's almost ready to be shipped or move more quickly. Collectors have a short memory. Jenkins and K & C are very quick in shipping what they announce.

It'll be interesting to see how the JJD and K&C Gallipoli figures match scale wise. From what I've seen so far , the WW1 figures just don't match, nor do the Britain's WW1. Three manufacturers with similar ranges that don't go together. Makes you (well me anyway) just stick with one manufacturer.

You are right Pete; they probably won't match. However, for me that's not a huge issue for me as long as the figures are good. Almost all of my WW I figures are JJD and K & C but I do have a few AeroArt and a couple of Britains and I do want to add some of their German artillery sets, which, unfortunately, no other company is doing (as of yet). I also find that within a company, figures vary in consistency.

They're all good, but (for me anyway) money only stretches so far, and it would be nice if they did fit better together as they would be interchangeable and you could mix and match. As it stands I can't do this.

Can't wait to see the Gallipoli boat & crew. Here's hoping the crew is a mixed bunch of ANZAC's and Brits and we see some poses of figures running ashore too. Thanks K&C for keeping us updated, the 'Brissy Boys' will be wetting themselves over this announcement. Yipee {eek3}^&grin
