Would have shown some photos of New Zealanders.
Unfortunately King and Country have once again neglected our contribution.
16000 Soldiers served, 2400 dead, 2300 wounded.
Oh to be an Australian, just bend over and have it kissed by a Toy Soldier maker.

Toysoldiers companies just make items according to the commercial demand, not according the historic facts;you could make some modifications and repaints as I did to have my dio with ww2 italians in Lybia :salute::

Agreed, I'd like to see more Kiwi TS produced, for a tiny country we sacrificed more than many during both world wars, however I fail to see how insulting our Aussie cousins and K&C is going to improve things.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I understand from recent feedback that K&C are preparing to release some additions to their ALH range in the form of some NZ mounted rifles later this year? This is exciting news and I look forward to their future release.

I'm also excited to hear the increase in Italian collectors and can only hope we see more figures and vehicles produced for the Allies bitterly fought WW2 Italian campaign.

Does not the fantastic diorama in NZ have a lot of figures representing NZ soldiers. They were made by the Perry brothers if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah Robert getting fired up! If you want to really get excited how about some NZ figures at Beersheba. Did the Kiwi's do anything there?

Keep your jandals on dude. Maybe have a few glasses of L&P.

Awesome.

I think many Australians would be happy to see and buy some NZ WW1 figures no matter which campaign.

However if it was based purely on statistics then the French involvement and losses at Gallipoli would mean their significant role has also been forgotten. However the French are well represented in other series.

Same thinking could also apply to lack of representation for Canadians in WW1.

Too say K&C has neglected NZ is unfair as they have done a few NZ items over the years ie. in RAF series, Desert SAS, and two FW's). I am not aware of any other current mainstream brand ever making a NZ figure.

Morning Chris.
Cathryn has confiscated my Mercedes, Colonels can't be petulant children.
I try to have a good rant at least once a month.
Hope all is well.
You say Beersheba, I say Tel El Saba, When the New Zealand Mounted Rifles captured the mountain and allowed the Lighthorse to charge Beershaba, otherwise they would have been slaughtered.
Will a release of three New Zealand Mounted Rifles count, hell yeah, about time.
Quote.
Hours had long since passed for the planned second stage to begin, but to commit Australian 4th and 12th Lighthorse at the town proper would be suicide with Tel El Saba still controlled by the enemy.
What most troopers of the Lighthorse could not see as they waited so long in anticipation to join the fray, was the actions of their fellow troopers in the New Zealand Mounted Rifles, as they made the ardous attempt to take the high ground of Tel El Saba.
It is another Anzac tale, but this time a New Zealand one.
This is History,I suggest King and Country take a long hard hard look at this.

Still no current Gallipoli figures, that is a slap in the face, maybe look at it from a New Zealand point of view.

Perhaps rather than complaining about how NZ military history is overlooked you might take a more positive approach.

I am confident Australian collectors would be happy to buy any NZ WW1 figures and combine with their Australian figures. Despite the sports rivalry we over here do appreciate the close military co-operation between the two countries going back to Gallipoli. Others might not be so aware of NZ contributions and its punching above its weight for such a small country.

Several years ago before Lighthorse series started I started a poll (easy to do) with about 10 options for possible Australian subjects. Lighthorse was the favourite.

Why don't you start a K&C thread with a title something like NZ figure ideas and then list some subjects with a bit of back ground history (Tel El Saba for example is not a name familiar to me but clearly Beersheaba is) and see if other forum members are interested. Incorporate a poll with the choices. Rather than saying K&C is slapping NZ in the face or does not know its history how about seeing if other forums members are interested and which type of figures they prefer. An important consideration is obviously that any NZ figure must look NZish. Do you want fighting Gallipoli figures, parade type, charging or trooping along NZMR and are there other campaigns where Kiwis might fit in with other series.

Awesome dude, hope all is well and hope the winter isn't too brutal. Hopefully after all the dust settles you can grab a few handles at the Hornby workingmans club.

How is the Arnhem dio coming along?

Keep it silly

Morning Chris,
We have had a very mild winter so far,had a great time in Sydney, Peter's store is Brilliant, had a very amusing dinner with Andy.
You know me Chris,I have to have a good rant once in a while, can't be to Politically correct.
Let me know if your ever back over this way.

Brett,
I'm very surprised you have never heard of Tel El Saba, it's the really really big hill above Beersheba, it commands the approaches to Beersheba.
I don't need to start a thread on New Zeaslanders, I've known Andy for years, we had dinner in Sydney, I gave him plenty of suggestions.
I count Andy as a very good friend, just because, I don't always agree with some of the decisions, doesn't mean I won't keep buying King and Country.
I have over 1700 soldiers, if they weren't any good, I wouldn't buy them.
Just to let you know, not only would Australians buy New Zealand releases, new Zealanders would to, there are over 4 million of us across the ditch, we even use money, although we sometimes try to barter with sheep.

Colonel Sir,
As an retired subaltern of the 4th/19th Princes Of Wales Light Horse, (Armoured Cavalry Regt.) Tel El Saba means a great deal to me. As you mentioned without the taking of the heights above Beersheba by the NZMR the troops of the 4th and 12th Lighthorse charge would have had a great deal of fire rained down upon it. . But let us not forget the troops of the Mother Country, mainly the Notts Battery (British) who with accurate artillery fire silenced the machine gun positions of the Turkish defenders. I have suggested to my good mate Andy that this British artillery set would make a great addition to my Beersheba Dio. Both the Kiwi MR (our ANZAC cousins) and the Brit Artillery would be a welcome addition to the ranks of the K&C AL range. I am led to believe that big things are to come next year with the 100th Anniversary of the Charge. The beer will be flowing all day in my Shop.^&grin^&grin
Cheers from the Land Across the Ditch, Howard

PS Patience is a virtue as I have been waiting for 5 years now for my Centurion:smile2: Still waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally agree Howard,
I have wanted Andy to include the British and Indians for the past few years, some British Lancers would be welcome as well.
Would have liked to have seen the Naval Brigade and Indians, Ghurkas and French Colonial troops included for Gallipoli.
Both of these campaigns could be expanded.
As my poor wife will readily admit, patience and me just don't get along, have lots of sheep friends though, can't answer back.
