He was very good in that role...a little greedy...a little devious...a little trecherous...but noble at the end...

those LoTR movies were just tooooooooooooooooo doggone long. Can't see myself watching them ever again. The DVD extended editions are fun but again, tooooooooooooooooooooooo long.

To read the trilogy is much better...
but the movie was done very well...
in fact..."The Hobbit" was a better read than the trilogy...

I read somewhere...
that the Trilogy was the most read and most bought book (3) in the world...

second to the Bible...

I read the trilogy- especially when I wanted to go to sleep!! I dunno man, all those years of playing DnD, I am just not a sword and sorcery guy anymore. I certainly respect the trilogy for what it is, as well as the film, just not my cup o tea these days

Three times though the trilogy at age 58, once reading out loud to my daughter.

Glad the films had extended versions. More Boromir and more Faramir. Similar "dad issues" with MY brother and me.

Too bad the sword fight scene in the Crystal Caves between Orks and Miranda Otto was not included. See extras disc.

Looking forward to the Sean Bean movie. He was a pretty good Odysseus in Troy as well.
