Gordon Highlanders watch out for Afridi tribesmen traveling along the road leading to and from the Khyber Pass. The Gordons are billeted in one of the outposts scattered along the North West Frontier. (Today their British descendants along with American forces often find themselves carrying out a very similar mission.)

Dear "PolarBear":

Most splendid photo showing off great looking figures with a super nice looking background! I just saw a news segment on the TV today showing US Army Infantrymen in Afganistan in a similar defensive situation. Only the uniforms and weapons were different.
