General Scale Questions. (1 Viewer)

You have to take in the sculpting and painting styles that can make the figures seem different but you don't seem to understand what scale is.Reread Martin's post.

Scale is a very simple concept; a ratio! A 1/30 scale 6' tall man would be 72"/30=2.4" or the metric version 1828.8mm/30=60.96mm. A simple measurment of scale without the math is to compare the height of a figure to the deck of a Tiger I tank; which is 60mm high in 1/30 scale or 1800mm at a1:1 ratio. The weapons as scale argument is spurious in certain instances i.e. K&C figures have oversize weapons. I would be very interested to see the scale of a K&C figure if accurately scaled to the weapon he carries, probably about 1/24 scale! I like and own many K&C figures; however none have weapons as they look unrealistic.

I would agree in part of what you say. But some of K&C recent offerings have improved with their over sized weapons problem. The latest Napoleonic French Cuirassiers:) and French 7th Hussars^&cool. However not all their ranges have ironed out the problem probably because you would not be possible to replicate the rifle in the tooling mould thinner enough to be reliably replicate and withstand collectors. Corgi are using harder plastic parts now for their finer parts on 1/72 diecast aircraft in response to collectors demanding more and more realistic models. But this problem is not isolated to K&C figurines in toy soldiers market:confused:
