I know there are some car fans on this forum!
I've been after a 1/32 car or two to display with my figures, preferrably Edwardian or early vintage and haven't had much luck. I walked by an op shop this morning and saw these two in the window and thought they warranted a closer look. They aren't Edwardian but when I turned them over and found they were castings of Gerald Wingrove models I thought they were a good thing.
They are a 1931 Mercedes Benz SSK and 1932 Murphy Duesenberg. They are beautifully sculptured and look right.
The Deusenberg has a 1977 date and the SSK 1981. They appear to be cast in an upper body, chassis and driveline/steering parts and soldered together.
I brought them home and had a look at Wingroves website and they are 1/32 and look about right with 54mm figures.
The SSK is missing a headlight but I might make a replacement and paint the car and look around for a RAF or Luftwaffe figure to go with the car.
