Here are some re-paints where I created 2 wehrmacht army soldiers from the Afrika Korps marching figure, and a waffen ss kneeling figure.
Some may think the waffen SS figure looks less colorful but have never understood why he had 2 cammie zeltbahn rolls! I have repainted his roll in brown-grey to represent an army blanket which was the usual thing used in the roll if not the greatcoat. The rolled zelt I have painted splinter cammie. I use acrylics sealed with flat varnish.
Tried to get the "look" of the early german army figures now retired (alas!). The anklets and low boots however make the figures mid-late war. I have therefore made the helmets single decal in fitting with this. The DAK green tunic passes fairly well for faded field grey (or faded green HBT), so I left it un-altered.(as the WSS tunic). The WSS eagle and the DAK cuffbands did need painting out. I left the waffenfarbe as white infantry and pink panzer. The WSS collar insignia also had to be repainted to army doppelitze.

Wow! Great re-paints and thanks for the tips and equipment considerations.

excellent job! I've converted some european theatre figures into AK and each figure took a lot of time to repaint into K&C style, very very time consuming job indeed. Will post them on the forum later (I am too lazy now to take pics and upload).

Very nice work.....thanks.Michael

That is nice work and very nicely finished, I'm having a go with Del Prado figures , have done a couple of K&C figures but didn't like the result. I'm still learning, they say practice make perfect:eek: but i'm doing the practice on the Del Prado figures not K&C;) It's good fun
The two photo's below are the proper K&C guys on the left and a ragtag of del prado repainted figures (with some limbs swapped) on the right

Truly excellent repaints pwalms, I hope K & C produce some more classic Germans.

Great job, I'm envious. I can't wait to see more of your repaints in the future.

Very nice indeed, its great to see other members painting skills. Have you thought about a "How-To" thread if you paint some more?

Jeff

Very nice repaints. As a model builder as well as collector, I can appreciate the time you put into them. These would stand up in most model contests!

Many thanks for all the positive comments guys. I think I am "hooked" back into a hobby I haven't been into for 25years! I recently pulled out some tamiya and airfix plastic conversions I did back in pre-married days!
(I have been detoured into 1/72 and 1/44 wargame figures, as well as a stint into 1/6th scale ....)

The new K and C previewed late war German Army figures look really nice, and will go well with their late war WSS figures. Can't wait to get them in hand!

Can't decide wether to convert more DAK figures - they look SO nice just as they are!

Excellent re-paints!! K/C should hire you as a consultant and/or should do some early German Wehrmacht in your style for those of us without your skills......Many Thanks for your photos......

That's frighteningly talented, mate, well done! Looking forward to seeing lots more of your work.

Cheers,

Molloy.
