Good day fellow collectors and history enthusiast. Couple of toy soldiers are out in the market. and collectors are pre-oredering couple of them. In regards to the weapons the German Army during the Normandy invasion, and if i may add several clips from the history channel and featured in a lot of WW2 books pertaining the Allied invasion of France (Beach Landings as such and working more inland to achieve their goals. We all know that the German Army ( Waffen SS, Fallschirmger) and both work together to repel the allied forces as much they can..I noticed that their is no actual footage the SS and Fallschirmjager ever have rhe Sturmgewehr 44 unless im missing it. Is there any historical proof that this weapon was issued to the German elite units around Carentan, St Lo or Caen. Please can you share your input on this topic. I appreciate it.

The MP-44 was not issued in any significant numbers to the German units that participated in the Normandy campaign. Some MP-44s were there, and there is a confirmed picture of a grenadier from 2. Panzer-Division (if I recall correctly) carrying one. Frank Methorst has posted that picture before.

The MP-44 was a LOT more prevalent on the Eastern Front in the summer of '44, but not so much in Normandy.
