Hi guys
I made a dream : for a small (limited) range , what do you think about Geronimo and his warriors ? for the opponents , US or mexican troops?

That's interesting...if I had to chose...it would be Apache against US Cavalry...

Apache Warriors - mounted and foot vs 9th / 10th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers that would be SUPER! The way that John sculpt's this would be a great range. Question is how many peopel are intersted in this? Not many replies to my sadness.

Apaches in general would be really cool. Andrea is about the only company that I know that has Apaches that are well sculpted but unpainted.

To be honest.I don't think this would sell well. Most of the Apache Wars was hit and run tactics of the Apaches with the cavalry tracking them.No large scale battles,no military personality of note,( Crook wasn't exactly the handsome dashing cavalier^&grin).Interesting subject though for me personally but not to really collect.I agree that Andrea does make some fine Apache figures.

the buffalo soldiers and the apaches are less frequent than Custer and his soldiers in the world of toy soldier
I agree, new releases in the series of Wild West
:salute::

The Apaches were fairly colourful in their dress and had a fairly distinct look, so I think they'd have some promise. It's correct to say that they typically fought small scale actions but that means a dio with 10 - 20 figures of both sides would look realistic and complete. I do think that JJ would need to give their faces a harder look than on his other figures. I think the plastic Timpo range did it quite well and I'd need to see Apache expressions something akin to those.

Great idea Mike im waiting to start collecting JJD ive decided to wait for a new line to start and if it grabs my fancy that will be the one this sounds interesting.

Thinking more on this, an Apache line has the advantage of some of the most famous and interestingly named Indian warriors. Aside from Geronimo, there's Cochise and Victorio for starters. A host of movies were made about Apaches, there'd be quite a bit of fertile ground in collector land I think.

I have a collection of Edmunds Toy Soldiers that portray the 4th U.S. Cavalry with Crook. He also offers a line of mounted and dismounted Apaches. The initial set was 6 figures, but I have been commissioning the sculptor for extras. They are glossy, very colorful, but have no idea how they sell....Hocker also offers Buffalo Soldiers and Indians, so the glossy market is at least trying the period out..Michael

Those are very nice looking figures. -- Al

I'm reading Flashman and The Redskins again. The Apaches would be neat. Flashman "meets" Mangus Colorado in 1849. He lived long enough to get his photo taken.

I am still very happy with the FIW era, so any additional Woodland Indian would be most welcome.

With an Apache release, I probably wouldn't be able to resist and would collect, but if John moved outside the Woodland Indians, I was hoping for a Seminole release--- but I have my doubts that any Seminole release is likely as the American Chippawa figures would be close, but not an exact match for the Florida Campaigns and I do not see John repeating very similar sculptures.

The advantage to any Apache release would be the desert terrain and the lack of trees which would make dioramas so much easier to construct.

One can only dream. I share your dream. Add wagon trains and other old west themes including the railroad expansion west.

Apaches and cavalry soldiers Paragon miniatures look very good, but I only collect matte metal

Hi everybody,
Yes Francisco , I went to the Paragon site :these apaches are very good looking although in plastic but definitely I will prefer them in lead and with our John making them.
