We are pleased the present the latest releases to our continuing Battle of Stalingrad figure range. This release is something of a bookend release for the range. It shows two Germans as they would have appeared in September 1942, well equipped and full of hope that if they just reach the Volga that the war will come to an end. The other two figures show what perhaps these same two Germans may have looked like only four months later if they were unfortunate enough to still be alive. Freezing and surrounded with no hope of escape from the Stalingrad Kessel. This range is our oldest other than Napoleon’s Europe and definitely holds a special place in our heart, so for collectors of the range don’t worry too much that we’ll get overly caught up in the glitz and glitter of the Western Front!

Nice figures. Like the tank destruction patches on the soldier

All four of these new sets will be a welcomed addition, all look very good but if I'm picking a winner it is the Winter soldier standing with cup, superb...Sammy

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to follow up on the two Stalingrad Summer figures, I received mine today and could not be happier they are absolutely beautifully done figures. The pick of the two has to be for me GERSTAL051 the man credited with 7 Tank Kills, simply a bad assed figure of one kickass front fighter. Anyone thinking of adding these two should do it with no reservations, wonderful additions to a fine line. regards Gebhard

I have bought the winter ones first. These will be coming shortly I am just about caught up on the early Stalingrad releases. Agree about the troop with the tank patches nice to see such awards added to figures than just splodges of silver and white paint. Just waiting for the winter PAK which should be coming next month

Just curious, I notice you said your almost caught up with the early Stalingrad releases. I remember when they first came out you had bought a few then sold them off. I'm just interested in what made you start to collect them again. I know why I do and there are many many reasons but one is as you mention above the quality in both sculpt and paint. The detail on just the Tank Destruction Badge alone is amazing, I still believe First Legion are producing the Finest WWII figures I have ever seen with the early Stalingrad figures being the finest. They don't just imply an award with a dot of paint all the details are there which is one of the things that sets them apart IMO. Gebhard

I just received GERSTAL 050 (the summer smoking "bad-***"german) along with the not so bad-*** FL GERSTAL.052 and 053 (winter defeated germans)....Simply Excellent WWII Stalingrad figures..........First Legion Rules........again.

Gebhard...

The wife's family would buy me a range of items a few times per year. What they did was buy an eclectic mish- mash of things they thought I either wanted or collected. I was bought quite a lot of the Stalingrad ranges and, never took them out of the box to look at they just went straight into the loft where they remained (along with a lot of other manufacturers stuff). I moved them on because I could not see myself really collecting the WWII ranges.

I mentioned last year that I saw a Panzer III and the winter tank riders and was impressed with them (my doubts about the WWII range derived heavily from the facial sculpts seen from stock pics and some on here) they were at that stage not what I could accept. Anyway, I digress, having seen the winter troops etc and having done a dio for these for a friend I ordered them from a dealer in Europe. I posted the shots on here as I was really impressed with them. I did not think about collecting anymore as things went on the back burner buying other things from habit more than actually wanting them. Recently, price increases aligned with a substantial drop in quality for items I was used to buying made me buy the first sets of the FL Stalingrad (non winter) troops. This was the first time I had seen them in flesh so, to speak (my mate only buys winter troops) and I had what alcoholics call a ''moment of clarity''.

So, several years late to the party It dawned on me I had been buying (I have heard it called overpriced junk) but, lets say, things to amass a large collection with quantity over quality being foremost. Though, that is down to what each collector defines quality as mind!! I am getting much more enjoyment satisfaction etc from these sets and actually enjoying the hobby more now

That's pretty much it.
