Ghosts or no ghosts , a very sad story. (1 Viewer)

Not convinced at all of the reality or factuality of the picture but, this shows what a nasty enemy the japanese were. I have no respect whatsover for the japanese fighting man of WWII they were a barbaric force and, this is just one in a myriad of stories of their terrible actions

No, it looks like a photo effect to me.

The way they treated our prisoners was a disgrace to humanity, I have more respect for what I remove from the Cat's tray every morning than I do for their soldiers. I'm not going to start the obvious debate....but they got what they deserved in the end.

What is the Daily Mail doing lately? Dredging up old hatreds to increase circulation? ^&confuse

It has a regular stream of WW2 articles, I don't think it's anything we don't know about what scum Japanese soldiers were in treating allied POW's like this, they are pretty much loathed already.

I don't think the Irish story was a hatred thing, just info that had come to light. I'm sure the Nazi's had drawn up lots of other invasion plans in case they'd done a bit better than they did.:wink2:

Was that other post that was deleted by the moderators a Daily Mail story? Too late to check. it seemed like a series to get old folks riled up.

As far as the Imperial Japanese go, that's what happens when a country's military and religion tell people that they are so right that losers and the weak beneath contempt.

"Our side" showed them good.

Couldn't agree more with the comments on the barbarity of the members of the Imperial Japanese Armed forces during WWII. Very hard to comprehend the thinking of that generation of Japanese when one looks at them today. On a personal note, my uncle was captured in Singapore when that useless Brit general, Percival, surrendered the Allied forces in February 1942, despite outnumbering the Japanese. My uncle had only just arrived as a reinforcement to an Aussie infantry battalion, part of the 8th Division, when they went 'into the bag'. He was first held in Changi, which he later described as being like a holiday camp when compared to his experience on the dreaded Siam/Burma Railway. He turned 21 on the railway and his 'job' each evening was to bury the poor b.....s who had been worked to death that day. He never really recovered mentally and passed away just 8 years ago. A wonderful, quiet and gentle man.

The man on the extreme left in this photo is my uncle, Colin Tate, although incorrectly identified as Bruce Pearce

Yes it was, but I don't think its to get folk riled up , they know WW2 is still hugely popular so they do articles on crashed aircraft, missing servicemen, shipwrecks, new found diaries, etc etc, it happens that the last two or three can produce debate but they are not all like that by any means.

Thanks Rob.

Probably photo shop Rob so i don't believe it's real but i agree with the views on this thread that the Japanese military did some shocking things during the Second World War which is a far cry to the Japanese today who are generally very friendly.

It looks photo shopped to me . But stranger things have happened before. It you believe in the after life then why can't ghostly images exist. Great story Rob thanks for posting. Simmo.

Any respectable after life would have to do better to convince me, and there will be a quiz.

U.L. approval and C.E. certification will be demanded and then a full audit.
