A good mate and his teenage son paid me a visit a few weeks ago, the young fellow enjoyed my collection and expressed interest in what he saw, We chatted and I gave him a long forgotten spares box of 1/35 scale old kit bits and bobs. I long ago stopped kit building and had forgotten what was in the box. Just today his Dad dropped by and presented me with what the young fellow made from what he found in the box, I was amazed with what he created from the box, seeing it I remember there was a an old Tamyia German 88 and carriage, and a old Revell Model T ford minus the engine and most parts. Here is a young fellow surrounded by TV's, Play stations and Mobiles but he would rather create something using his imagination and have fun doing it. Created from spares in a box, Mum surrendered an old hanky for the lining. Please enjoy the pics...

Those were the days, he made lots of 'funny car' kits, my fav was the Scool bus. I built a Shelby Cobra sports car, painted it Midnight Blue, sweet looking model.
Sounds awesome!
My uncle did mainly WW2 aircraft at first but he was a model-making machine. He made all the Pacific Aircraft for both sides, most of the others and even smaller-scale ships like the Bismark and even aircraft carriers with tiny planes on deck. Then he did every WW2 tank. Some WW1 aircraft, some cars and Dad forgets what else. All painted.
Dad thinks of those as "the days" as well.
I only saw a few that lived to my childhood.
Best Wishes
Paddy
