I just watched this. Not bad but almost a repeat of the first one. Didn't really like the lead actor but was ok.
What are other people thoughts ? Looking forward to Odysseus movie as not many historical movies come out.

I tried to watch it but haven't made it through the entire movie. I like the action and scenery but there is something off about the plot. The plot reminds me very much of that TV series "Spartacus" including some of the same actors. Felt like a rip off.

I can't remember where I read this but after "Napoleon" didn't do so well, Scott cut out a significant part of the "Gladiator II" to focus it more on the action. I didn't think the film was great and I certainly preferred the original, but I thought the battle and arena scenes were well done as was the staging.

Overall, historical movies seem so few and far between that I'm typically happy that one is being made regardless of how good it is.

I watched it, I liked it, the plot was ok for me, the opening battle scene looked good to me, although I've read some reviews about it from sword and sandal ballbags who ripped the battle scene to shreds........................"What are they using a trebuchet for!!".......to hurl boulders and fireballs at the ships?.................."Why oh why did the Roman take off his helmet!!"...................to air out his hair??

I'm not a sword and sandal rivet counter; matter of fact, I'm with Brendan, just give me a historical movie and I'm happy, not a fussy nitpicker.

What put me over the edge on this movie was the flooded coliseum with sharks and ships.....oh my god!! Sharknado anyone.
