Hi
I started collecting the Zulu range. I really like these figures because they are different from most of my collection which is mostly K&C. I know that this range is available in gloss & matte. I prefer the flat or matte finish. I was wondering though about the other lines.....are they matte or gloss or both? It seems confusing any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

The Zulu range is the only one that is done in both matte & gloss

Napoleonic - matte
ACW - matte
F&IW - gloss
Redcoats & Bluecoats - gloss
Petticoats - gloss
WWI & WWII - matte
Ceremonial - gloss

I have probably missed some but gives you and idea

Hi There,

The Durbar line was done in Gloss and retired a while back but is getting revisited and looks like it will be in their newer matte finish. I think it will be an interesting line for you to look at.

All the best

Dave

Hi Andy,

You may wish to check out the Zulu War series by Frontline Figures.

Frontline has Zulu War figures in matt finish.

Regards, Raymond:).

Hi Andy you may want to spend some time checking out the Frontline Thread which features The Zulu War I've a hunch you may enjoy what you see and if not it'll give you of the some of the figures ans sets by Frontline of the period....The Lt.

Hi Andy,

You have just heard from the Lt.

I think he is the man with one of the largest Zulu War collections on this forum, if not the largest.

To be honest, I have learnt so much from his threads and posts about Zulu War figures.

It will be well worth your time to follow his sage advice, before you buy.

Have Great Weekend, Raymond:).

I have seen some of the Frontline sets. I really like the ones with the wagons. Especially the one being tipped over. Are they the same size as Britains? I would get them if they match.
Thanks
Andy

Thanks for the picture. Britains are noticeably bigger. I don't know if I want to mix the two. Real shame I like those wagon sets.
Thanks
Andy

That is The LTs' hospital that he made himself.

He made his own Hospital? WOW Looks good. I have not gotten the Hospital from Britains yet....not sure if I want that as a centerpiece of my diorama. Was wondering if there were others or if Britains was making another building.

He has also made a storehouse as well. I think Britains has plans to make a storehouse this year. I have the hospital. It is a great piece and HEAVY. I believe there are a few other companies that make buildings, JG Miniatures is one, Hobby Bunker? I think also has some. Conte have also made them but I think they are retired and of course there are Imperial and Trophy building that you could look out for. I am sure The LT could probably add to this also.

I have just looked at the JG sets and they are different than the Britains Hospital. I wonder which one is correct. The Britains Hospital looks like brick. I would want to try and be as accurate as possible.

I think the Britains one is more accurate, I believe the JG ones are also a little on the small side. Hopefully one of our Zulu experts will chip in as I am also new to collecting the Zulu range and my expertise has been acquired from the knowledge of the guys on the forum.

I just looked at the Britains Hospital and it looks like brick and stone on the corner sections. I like it better then the JG stuff so maybe I'll just get that one.
