Going East my friends. (1 Viewer)

Gents,

I hate to keep on...but do I need to pack a sweater? Heavy jacket? Today is clear, blue skies and 85 degrees...yesterday was 91.

It's not going to be too helpful to you, but you never know... I am right now sitting in snow with 10-18 inches expected overnight!!!

Be prepared for moderate temperatures during the day, and cool nights. I've switched from trousers to shorts for when I'm at home, but I wear a t-shirt and a sweatshirt or a sleeved shirt over it, at this time of the year.

Monday it was around 60, sunny, with a light breeze. The temperature dropped to the low 50s from Tuesday through yesterday. Today, we're socked in with rain, temperatures are in the low 40s. As Zach mentions, there still can be snow here in the area. After all, the change in seasons is not like flipping a light switch, for as much as the popular culture seems to think it is. Days are getting longer, true, and gradually, we're pointing ever closer to the Sun. But the ground is still relatively cold. Also, you want to prepare for the occasional rain. We had thunderstorms roll through very early this morning, as the front rolled in.

If you bring a light sweater -- not a summer one, mind you -- you should be ok.

I don't know about NY, but is has been a brutal March here after a relatively mild winter. One of the first times in history that average temps have been colder in March than February and it is raw misery out there today. This time of year you can wear a winter coat on in the morning, shorts at lunch, and a coat again at night. The temps might vary by 40 degrees during the day.

I hope it gets nicer by next week. I will be there walking the battlefield for a few days.

John:

Please bring back some of that cooler weather to San Antonio. We are looking at some low 90's next week and it is only the first week of April.

Ouch!
