I just managed to set up a diorama on Golan Heights, depicting the fierce battle fought in the Yom Kippur war in Oct 1973.
The Northern front was centered around Golan Heights, which led to the Israeli war series "Valley of Tears."
The clever use of the terrain of high ground and wide ditches was key to the success of holding off the thousands of Syrian tanks in the opening few days of the battle.
The Centurion tank (Israeli heavily modified it to become their own SHOT version) is also another key to holding the Syrian attack; some research has shown that a Centurion tank took a few hits to be disabled, and this leads to a 1:7 ratio of the tank destroyed in Israel favor.
The diorama shown here is a mini version of the Valley of Tears; the project took several months and is my largest diorama (although still small as compared to many other collections).
The figures, Centurion tank, and M113 are from King & Country, Syrian T55/54, and T62 tank are from 1/35 model. I am looking forward to the T55/54 tank from the K&C tank that will be released later this year or early next year. I will be re-doing this again upon receiving them. Here is just a little preview.
I hope you guys like it.
