Yo troopers you get some really good laughs from ebay seller listings dont you think, just a couple of the lastest one's.

Seller listed lancer. Description, has a few MINOR & a few MAJOR chips "WHAT"
so has a look hardley any paint left on it lol.

Seller listed Set Of Lancers. Description, In A GOOD playworn condition, but the soldiers have lost the end of their spears lol, has a look battered to hell again, thats a good playworn condition DOH.

Seller set of Dragoons. Description, MINT IN BOX, thinks this will do for me my son, has a look Battered to hell and one horse only had one LEG lol. Now thats a mint set DOH.

Buys a lovely Roan box of a UK dealer wraps it in a sheet of brown paper and posts it to Ireland. Need I say any more, the postman put it through the letter box it was as flat as a sheet of A4 paper sad:(, so asked for refund, he comes back with that box was well packaged lol, but did get refund before I drew my Saber lol.

Dont yo just love ebay. Brighten's my day up.

This gent wants 20 bucks for his Boddy and Shannon will sell you a Bobby for $9. Now why would I want to go to EBay for new troops ?

Well for those that you either can get more cheaply or cannot find elsewhere of course. It is alway interesting to find these overpriced examples but for each of these there are many more that meet the scarcity or value criteria. I filled a fair portion of my Conte Spartan ranks with Ebay purchases of figures or sets that were sold out and still averaged under the original retail price for the lot.;) Like many things, there will always be good and bad examples and the trick is to keep the ratio heavily in your favor.

If you really want a good laugh from e-bay sellers check out the over-priced camoflage V-2.......

The seller, I consider to be a friend, and is also a forum member. I wish him all the luck on the price. I am considering selling mine at the same price if he gets his price met. I should note that has not happened the last two times. The 379.00 Price has been met three times. There are only 100 of these are in the world.

Foolish? Perhaps, but happy!:D:D:D

I wish you both luck. To me, the value of something is always what someone will pay. I take it this is retired and at a limit of 100 who can say what the right price should be until it sells?

Thanks I agree with you. I could use the money. If anyone wants one for a little less let me know. We can avoid ebay charges;);)

I'm sure if you list it for the original retail price you could be accommodated:D...thus avoiding e-bays fees:D

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D.........you're a funny guy.....we'll talk again I'm sure... regards

I prefer the black and white version as imo it's more suited to the Inspection Sets where the senior officer figures have a good shock and awe look. I figure by the time they were painted in camo colors the senior staff would be like "I've seen it, I've seen it, been there done that, bought the V-2 T-shirt" ;)
