Well its Saturday morning in the Wairarapa valley. Although its been a glorious week weather wise in Wellington its overcast with ledern skies today and forecast for cloud and rain most of the weekend. Of course it Valentine's day and as I have only been married for three years to my current wife the romance is still alive and kicking. Its also our wedding anniversary on Sunday so we are going back to the vineyard where we got hitched for Sunday lunch. It also Art Festival week in Greytown. I am off to a lunchtime war poetry reading and WW1 war song recital. Then tonight we may venture out to see the Greytown Little Theatre Society perform the Greek play 'Frogs'. Then the cricket world cup starts today so some essential viewing will be required.
As for the world of toy soldiers I received some ATS parliamentary cavalry through the post (they are used to me on the Friday train from Welly to Greytown as I put my parcels in the guards van each week). I normally get the cheery hello and more soldiers for Greytown is it Gary! I even have a special trolley to take the parcels from work to the train station. Toy Soldier Collector magazine was in the Greytown post box - so some quiet reading while half watching the cricket. I ordered 8 of the latest Thomas Gunn figures from the February dispatches and got shipped the Italian plane I bought off them last month. I have also reserved a very special plane coming out next month with TG. Finally I was debating whether to renew my club membership with WB (I have been a club member for 10 years). I have found the latest club figure uninspiring. I like the idea of WB doing the Boxer Rebellion - but I may go for Heritage efforts for this conflict.
I will get some shots up over the next couple of days but its time to skype with the family back in the UK now.
