Good News for Mobile Device Users (1 Viewer)

Mobile device users rejoice! At long last we have good news for those who connect to the forum via smartphones/tablets. We have not one, but TWO options available to you!

The first option is free. In the lower left hand corner of the forum page you will see a place where you can choose the 'style' that you wish to view the forum in. 'New Basic' is the default that everyone uses. If you choose 'Default Mobile Style' you will get a version of the forum that is quite friendly to mobile devices! While the mobile option has been around for a while, the one feature it did not include was a 'what's new' option, allowing people to only view the newest posts. That has now been fixed...so give it a try. I think it will be MUCH easier and quicker for mobile users.

The other option is a downloaded app called Forum Runner (it costs $1.99....Treefrog gets none of the profits!). The advantage of Forum Runner is that it doesn't have to download the whole page every time...the app already has the 'framework' downloaded, meaning that only the actual posts, etc need to be downloaded. (For full disclosure, I have only just enabled this app and have not had much time to 'play' with it to see what it can do. For $1.99, it might be worth a look for you).

One glitch. You can read the posts on the Mobile style but when you try to post, nothing happens.

At the top of the screen, to the right of the 'Shop Treefrog' button, you should see three icons. Click on one in the middle (looking like a box). That will bring you to the forum menu...and one of the options is 'What's New.' Click there and you are good to go!

To clarify...if you don't have any new PMs in your inbox, there will only be two icons. One of them looks like a grid...that's the one you want.

I have been using the mobile version of the forum on my iPad for several days now and I have to say I like it. The only problem I've had is the images seem to load a little slow.
