Gordon's Latest Building is Awesome!!! (1 Viewer)

I see your point Ron,however there are of course only limited amounts of sets you can use with a building at one time without it looking unrealistic. But i am Biased of course,i have a cabinet for Allies, another for Germans and another for vehicles. They just look so good together i don't like splitting them up for a dio!

Rob

Rob my son, the answer is obvious now you need one for dio's.:D

Sssssshhhhh! The wife will hear you mate!;) :D

Rob

Well Ron i'm going to dip my toe in so to speak.First i'm going to have a small dio with the charge of the Light Brigade sets. And then a Tiny dio with the seizing the colours set.It could be the start of an obsession!

GO - BIG DOG - GO ! ;)

There is another view of this building from the opposite side, and its a totally different building, just like the old production "back lot" buildings from 1996! Here's a link to the new photo: https://www.kingandcountry.com/home.jsp

Now I am convinced that this will be a production building. Andy is bringing back the "backlot" concept: versatile 3-D buildings which can be turned around to provide two entirely different appearing buildings to permit collectors to make changing displays. Anyone who has seen the original backlot buildings (Train Station/Cinema, Hotel/Dutch Warehouse, French Home or Garage/Archway, Patisserie/Townhouse and Brasserie/Tudor House) will realize this is a very exciting development!

This does indeed look good.Louis in your opinion how much would one of these sell for ?(approx of course).

Frontline is producing good looking 3D buildings and they sell them 75,00$ - 85,00$.

Accordingly, maybe 100,00$US for a Normandy house if made in mass production.

Pierre.

I agree with Pierre. About $100, maybe less, if its mass produced in a factory in China.

The older "Back Lot" buildings were hand made in Hong Kong out of wood and papier mache, and they sold for $125 to $150 in 1996. I imagine if the buildings were hand made today, they would be considerably more expensive.

So lets hope for mass production.

Thank you both.I think i would buy this building, love the staircase at the back.

Brad

Can you do a front and back shot of this building - so we can compare?

Ron,

Not sure I understand what you're looking for. The shots are on the website.

I cant find the photo of each side? I see the link Louis provided - but whats on the other side of the building??

Ron,

It looks like Andy just replaced the photo of one side of the new building with a second photo of the otherside. The first photo depicted a tudor style building, with shell damage to the roof, and a viche propoganda poster of Petain with Maquis grafitti spray painted over it. Usually when Andy takes a photo off the main page, it ends up in the "dramatic display" page in a few days. Hopefully Andy will see this thread and post side by side photos of the building (and maybe answer are questions about mass production and expected cost).

Is this what you are after?

Jeff
