I discovered this 2004 Don Troiani 5th Regiment of Foot Light Infantry painting today on Facebook. How great would this be - HINT HINT - and what a nice compliment to the 5th Grenadiers that are already available. Where as the Grenadiers were considered the assualt troops in their day, the Light Infantry (left flank company of the regiment) were considered the special forces. Certianly would fit in with the 1775-1777 time frame including Lexington & Concord, Bunker/Breed's Hill, Brandeywine Creek, Monmouth Courthouse, et. al. Great looking head gear. If these were made available by First Legion I would certainly be purchasing them to use as support for the Grenadiers . . .

I think I might cave on these too Mike. That is some awesome headgear and would be really cool in light infantry action poses like this fellow.

Your recent exploits have got me seriously pondering some of the militia figures now you know....:rolleyes2:

Alright, well.....that didn't take too long. Just ordered my first 4 First Legion figures minutes ago. I picked out 4 of the AWI militia figures to go with some kit figures I intend to paint this Spring. Cannot wait to finally see these up close. Thanks a lot Mike.

Oh you are more than welcome Dave. Just don't tell your wife that I might have been an influence on you in doing that. I would hate to be named as a co-defendant . . .. I am sure you will really like them . . .
Mike

Mister Dave ur in
Wait till u see them in front of u
u'll be ordering 4 more

I would agree Mike, but I don't think they will be up next. Rest assured though, we will have light infantry eventually, given how thorough FL is with thier ranges.

You will enjoy them, I'm sure. As you will soon see, there isn't a better AWI series out there. Which ones did you pick up?

Hey Noah. Yes I am pretty sure I will be pleased with these and I've been contemplating them for a while now. I have ordered #'s 1, 2, 4 and 10 and may add a few more to these eventually. :)

Mike,

These would be a great addition to the AWI series.... Matt please look into doing these...

Well, you did pick some good ones, but then, I would probably say that about any of them!^&grin Really though, you will be impressed when these four arrive. The detail on AWI001 is very nice, especially the pine tree on the flag. Also, I have a soft spot for AWI004, mostly because of the importance that Col. Prescott played during the Battle of Bunker Hill. I don't have AWI010, but only because he has a rather relaxed pose to put with the rest of the militia, who otherwise seem in the middle of defending thier position.

Please let us know what you think when they arrive.

Aye, I will Noah.

And as you pointed out, #10 does seem to have a rather relaxed pose which is precisely why I picked him out of the line up. I am hoping to display these guys with a couple of sets of kit figures I'll be working on in the near future. We will have to see about glaring scale discrepancies but assuming they are close enough I think they will make a nice little scene altogether...hopefully on one of Hudson and Allen's little terrain pieces ultimately. Attached are the kits I am referring to.

That is an interesting idea and I hope it works out, barring any scale issues, like you said. It makes total sense now why you picked the figures you did, especially AWI010.

Isn't the kit on the right from Art Girona? I don't recognize the other one at all.

Yes, I hope the scales are complimentary too. I will keep all you FL AWI people in the loop on that. And these are both Art Girona, but the single figure is a new release slated for March arrival to sellers. :)

Ah, a new release. That would explain why I couldn't remember seeing that one. Again, hope this turns out for you.
