Someone sent me the picture and I liked it. I also sent it to Playset Magazine that uses a fox for their logo and they loved it and going to hang it up. First time I got picture I DID NOT NOTICE FOX- till my wife said look again. I got a fox family on by back land. Den only 100' from house in woods. I watch the three baby foxes playing in yard and did find one that was hit by car on road. Yes Brad, I wish I was sly has a fox but it never happens. Leadmen

Thats a great image John, thanks for sharing.Heres one of a Coyote that was apparently injured and had taken refuge in the barn last Fall.
I must be getting soft in my old age.I just took a picture of him. After a few days he just wandered off back across the pasture and into the brush.
What the heck, live and let live.We didnt have any calves just then anyway for him to mess with and he wasn't in any condition anyway.

I keep taking in stray cats,we have baby skunks and a Racoon that come out from under the woodpile by an old Oak tree every night.Plus I'm looking at adopting some baby Pygmy goats from a friend of mine that wants to GIVE them to me.At least the goats will keep the brush chewed back, plus they are incredibly cute.Soft, soft ,soft.

Great Picture. Love it

This wildlife theme is a double coincidence today as a Brush Turkey made an appearance under our porch this morning. He was having a good look at himself in the reflection of one of our floor to ceiling windows, so maybe it's around breeding season. They build a nest from leaves about twenty feet across and six foot high, and the male looks after the nest and young, same as with Emus. The wife raced to get her digital camera but the batteries were flat, which of course turned out to be my fault - how that works I don't know as it is HER camera afterall.

Anyway, here's a pic of a Brush Turkey I got off the web so you can see what they look like.

They are less than half the size of your US turkeys. And no, you're not allowed to eat them as with all native Aussie animals. Unless you are aboriginal of course, then you can pretty much eat whatever native animal takes your fancy. But lucky for our animals most Aboriginals prefer KFC etc these days.

On a sadder wildlife note: Steve Irwin 'The Crocodile Hunter' died about 11 am this morning as a result of a barb injury to the chest from a Stingray he was filming for his daughter's wildlife show on the Great Barrier Reef off Port Douglas in North Queensland. Australia Zoo is only a fifeteen minute drive from my house and I worked at the Animal Hospital there for a while. In real life the guy was exactly how he appeared on television. I didn't exactly agree with his views on Saltwater Crocodiles, which is partly why I no longer work there. However he was a genuine and passionate Aussie that will be sorely missed, especially in this area.

The Turkeys are neat to watch. I have about 20 wild ones in back but I think the foxes caused them to move. Sorry to hear about the Croc Hunter. I watched his shows and he seems carless at times. Was he the one who caught flak in the news for having his baby by the animals? Leadmen

Yes it was, he had his infant son Bob with him at the time. He was a great father to his kids, but I don't think the guy had a real enough appreciation about dangerous wildlife situations.
