Gday all,
Being new to collecting , and discovering King and Country, is there more of you out there of a like mind who want more Great war figures & vehicles in particular Australians on the western front.
As a proud Aussie who has uncles buried in France and Belgium what a better way to remember them. The light horse figures a just brillant and i want more, but some western front A.I.F would be an excellent addition to the range.
So all you who agree raise your voices and perhaps Andy will hear.

Wayne,

the British WW1 Somme series by K&C will fit in nicely, but they need just a minor paint change.

Firstly they need the correct colour patch for the Battalion, in my case 16 Bn AIF or 48 Bn AIF from our relatives, and then a repaint of the boots from black to brown.

The uniforms with steel helmets are waht was worn on the Western Front in the trenches.

Easy done,

John

I would definitely collect WW1 Australians, but as a 'bananabender' I think it better to start with a Queensland Battalion - perhaps the 9th or 15th. I believe it was the 9th which landed on Gallipoli first while the 15th manned Quinn's Post although I do concede the equal call of the WA Battalions. The 9th Bn Battle honours are:

•Somme 1916
•Somme 1918
•Pozières
•Bullecourt
•Ypres 1917
•Menin Road
•Polygon Wood
•Broodseinde
•Poelcappelle
•Passchendaele
•Lys
•Hazebrouck
•Kemmel
•Amiens
•Albert 1918
•Hindenburg Line
•Hindenburg Line
•Epehy
•France and Flanders 1916-1918
•ANZAC
•Landing at ANZAC
•Defence at ANZAC
•Suvla
•Sari Bair

Gday John,
Great idea, of course I have full set of British Somme series but my painting skills are not worth a mention & I'm sure to stuff it up and can't afford to rebuy new sets.
My grandfather and his two brothers were all field company engineers with the Third & fourth Divisions and it would be great to have some K&C w/front Aussie figures in s/hats.
I live in hope.

Waynepoo,
Obee (John) has "converted" items before for a very reasonable fee.
It may mean they have to travel with some Napoleonics but it can be done.

Brett

What about 'Mephisto' the last surviving German tank from World War One? Its plans are available from the Queensland Museum, plenty of information concerning its capture by the 26th Bn and a real must have for fans of military vehicles.

Jack and Wayne,
I think you will find that there are not many Australia subjects that have not been mentioned to Andy. 2 1/2 years ago I did start a Poll on Aussie figures which was interesting. I looked for it recently but could not find it.
Andy has also seen Mephisto.

That sounds like a challenge to me!

How about Australian figures from the Russian intervention in 1919!

Gday guys,
Good to hear Brett would of course keep Andy aware of what we Australians are after with K&C , they do seem to do a lot of German figures of the two world wars, which is ok and i suppose it is based on what we collectors want and compared to the rest of the world we Aussie collectors are a small mob, and this forum is as good a suggestion box as any. I am new to collecting and on a
learning curve, Some of you mentioned ''MEPHISTO'' and I found one from the OLD NORTHWEST TRADING COMPANY which to those of you in the know would be aware of.
Cheers,

Have visited MEPHISTO many times at the old Qld museum and its new home, from a humble start the Germans sure improved their tanks in the second round of the great euro civil war!
What i hope to see from K&C is some more great war Imperial artillery.

Wayne,

the 8 inch is a HUGE gun and would require a large crew of gunners, so it would sure be very expensive.

I'd much prefer the 18 Pounder QF Field gun, and then it could be made in a number of different finishes, such as Somme / Flanders, Gallipoli and Middle East using either British, Australian and Canadian Gunners, to suit the allied collectors.

A similar project was the German 77mm gun, (FW058) 1914, (FW057) 1917 and (AL015) Turkish 1917

It could therefore be part of the limited number releases like K&C does with WW2 vehicles.

Mate I can't argue with you, but like all big kids I want what I want, I be happy with any new allied guns from K&C, like Brett said to me collecting this stuff is like having a crack cocaine addiction!

Hi Guys,
In my defence I am a responsable "drug dealer" in that I warn my potential "addicts" about the effects of consumption.

Good idea on the artillery John.
