Dear Greek Sgt,

Hi. My name is MikeNick. I try to focus my collection on modern Greeks. I noticed your photo and wanted to ask you a few questions

Do you have any information on this figure such as if there are any Greeks produced by the company?

Do you collect Greeks?

MikeNick

Hi Mike,

I made this figure. I often put my finished stuff in the sculpting threads because although all steps are involved in making soldiers from an original sculpt to a cast and painted copy, it all starts with the fun of the sculpt and everything after that is just work. I call my "company" ToyBox Army, and I have an Ebay store as well as a dedicated site, toyboxarmy.com This particular figure is based on an illustration from Military Uniforms Visual Encyclopedia, and the information given is this:

Country: Greece
Date: 1940
Unit: Greek Army
Rank: Sergeant
Theatre: Balkans

I love doing stuff that is interesting, regardless of if there is "a market" for it, so I'm always open to new ideas. Please feel free to suggest future figures. Thanks!

Dear Captain Kronos,
I purchased this figure off of ebay and I must say that I am enjoying it.

On a future piece, would it be possible to alter the helmet to the Mk34/39 version that was more widely in use?

Here is a website devoted to the subject
http://ww2militaria.weebly.com/greek-m3439--mkii-helmets.html

Thanks,
MikeNick

I am glad you like the figure, and I will check out the helmet you suggest...stay tuned! {sm2}

I will be recasting the figure with the other helmet this week, don't start the war without him! {sm4}

Thanks for the information, Captain Kronos.

Would you mind posting a photo of the revised Greek Sargeant under the Greek soldier thread?

I really want the word to get out to collectors of Greek soldiers that there are manufacturers like you.

Thanks,
MikeNick

Sure. If you have some other Greek soldiers you would like to see, just forward me a pic and I'll take a crack at it.

Okay, the re-cast with the M34/39 helmet came out. I will try to have it painted in the next few days.

Captain Kronos,
The figure looks great!
I will be sending you a private message soon.

Earlier you asked about other poses. Is it possible to get the same figure in the following positions:
Standing and firing
Kneeling and firing
Laying down and firing?
Thanks
Mike

Mike,

I will put those poses on my "to-do" list...

Captain,
Hi.
Here is some food for thought:
Have you ever considered one of your Greeks WW2ToyBoxArmyGreekInfantryWW2.jpg
in a firing position such as this:
mytoyboxarmy ideas.jpg

Just as idea.
Regards,
MikeNick
